So on friday, Brian and I drove to Dallas, TX to see Feist and Broken Social Scene.
It was truly an amazing show, and it has to be one of the best shows I've ever been to, period.
And for some reason the highlight of my night was getting to meet Feist herself, having her sign my guitar, and getting a hug from her. Awww.
But yeah, there are pictures, and if you manage to scroll alllllll the way to the bottom, there's even six minutes of video footage (though unfortunately only 30 secs. are of Feist).
Of course, we started by leaving Mississippi.
Your neighborhood friendly Julian.
Glad to see Brian's able to relax like that.
Welcome to Louisiana. You've only got five more hours of driving left to go! =\
Insert inspirational quote here.
I can't tell you how many times we had to stop to go to the bathroom. I think I've got a bladder problem.
The western sky was so gorgeous. I felt like I should've cried it was so pretty. It also had to do with the fact that we were listening to the Dears over. What a moment.
The advertisements for upcoming artists were painted on the walls of the venue.
And Feist came onstage with sparklers for everyone. BTW, sorry for the poor photo quality. Brian and I didn't get there early enough to have gotten a good space.
Feist played an amazing set. She played 8 songs all in all.
Setlist:
1.) When I was a young girl
2.) Secret Heart
3.) Gatekeeper
4.) Song about neptune???
5.) K.D. Lang cover
6.) Mushaboom
7.) New song??? But I really really really liked this song.
8.) Let it die.
So yeah, she didn't play Inside and out, and I was sad about that, but still an amazing show, and she's SUCH a performer. Gaaaah.
And then of course, Broken Social Scene took the stage. They were even more amazing, but of course Feist will always have that special place in my heart.

Feist came back out, because she's actually one of the members of Broken Social Scene. And she had the most energy out of anyone on stage.
The girl from Stars came out on stage and sang Anthems. Stars just happened to be there also, but they didn't perform.
And of course, after the show, Brian and I waited outside next to Feist's tourbus, and she finally came out, and was in a hurry because she had to hop a plane to Canada to perform for the knighting of k.d.lang, but she did happen to stop for a quick moment to thank us for coming to the show, and that's of course where she signed my guitar. You can't really see it, but her signature is underneath the humbucker/pickup underneath the 'C' in Charlie-san.
And so we made the arduous return to Hattiesburg.
We stopped at a Whataburger, and they had crazy insane decor. I had to capture the essence, and Brian was the perfect model for doing so. Just check out that wallpaper.
And a post wouldn't be complete without crazy driving pictures!
And finally finally finally the best part of all is the six minutes of video footage.
It's a 14-ish .mb file, but it's worth the wait. So please please please watch it.
