There are several things to note.
I totally have a new crush now. And she's totally unattainable because she's a TV-Actress on a show called Degrassi, and after having finished that stint, she's actually now living in Barcelona, ES where she's an actress in an English-speaking play company. But yeah, I'm totally in lurve with Elisa Moolecherry.
Okay, on to more serious things to note.
I went to New Orleans to see Of Montreal, as well as hang out with a few college friends. On my trip, I saw
alfcake,
blondiusmaximus,
bscottwilliams,
evilspeakers,
morningrose,
mcsspitfire,
rachaeljack, and
roadmapsaseyes.
As you can see, Rachael is here, along with Mr. Kevin Barnes.
First of all, I'm going to backtrack. Ginger came to town, and we went to the Capri theater for a show. We went to cups beforehand, where we saw Nathan, a good friend of Rachael's. I had no idea he was working there.
Arkitekt:
Is anyone feeling this communism theme they've got going on?
Arkitekt again.
Fender Rhodes, oh lawd how I want one ever so badly.
Throwing up my westside symbol, since I was straight thugging it with Brian.
Unwed Sailor, which was good. I fell asleep though.
Yummy. 24-hour mediterranean.
The next day, I attempted to clean my room, with little to no success. Here's documented proof that I'm a really messy person.
And then I headed down to New Orleans. I went to Little Tokyo with Matt and Blayne. I had about the best time ever with those two.
Then we went to TwiRoPa. Where The first band played, they were called Los Dientes. Or "The Teeth" if you want to be all english about it.
And then Tilly and the Wall played. Which was amazing. They had three women singing and stomping on boxes instead of having a drummer. They even had a tap-dancer, whose platform was mic'ed to amplify her tap-dancing.
And then Derek proposed to Jamie. It was about the cutest and sweetest thing ever. He did it after playing a song for her.
The warm side of Kevin Barnes. Now this set was freaking amazing. For me, it's not just hearing everything live, it's seeing everything live. The entire performance was amazing, and instrument playing was done so well.
Amazing costumes by all, honestly.
The lady was super cool. Really, everyone was. Everyone except for the bassist and lead guitarist would switch instruments. Namely the girl and the drummer.
Hiphop, much?
Gah, the cowbell was AMAZING.
You know, actually, the entire set was awesome. Fun times, and I'm glad I got to hang out with old friends. But particularly ranking girls with Brian. (A very shallow, but fun thing to do.)
There is one more thing I need to mention. I've been tagged yet again to do my top Five, and top Six by
schoenerengel71 and
dothefrug.
Luckily for you, some of the songs have changed, maybe the order, even. BUT, I'm far too lazy to decode and then encode back to mp3 the songs that I bought on iTunes. So I'm sure you didn't really want to hear these songs anyway.
As always, starting with #6:
#6 - Saint Etienne - Lose that girl
#5 - Louis Philippe - You Mary You
#4 - Kings of Convenience - Toxic Girl (preferrably strings version)
#3 - The Colour - Tambourine
#2 - British Sea Power - Oh Larsen B
#1 - Maximo Park - The Coast is Always Changing
So the next five to play the game are going to be
blondiusmaximus,
mcsspitfire,
roadmapsaseyes,
morningrose, and
