[ Good evening, folks. Today, you get three not so lovely options as Monaco does her best to adapt to Mayfield.

Un: After thoroughly complaining about the bland clothing here, Monaco can be seen on the porch with a sewing kit, ripping off the extra length to a poofy skirt while altering her blouse. A few needles may or may not whizz right by your ( Read more... )

[Total delicious that is not cake. But it's a close second? She's freaking out on the inside and just makes a few stuttering noises before forming a coherent sentence.] Sorry, miss. I thought I had a proper grip on it.

[But it is not cake and therefore not as good. It's so strange to actually...'feel' something like this. She just reaches up and wipes a bit on her finger and tastes it. First thing ever eaten!]

....so that is what taste is like...

[More to herself then anything. She then tilts her head to look at her]

What did you hit me with?

[Maybe she shouldn't be too surprised, given she's been told that inhabitants come from differing worlds. But never having pie? She blinks, before answering.]

Oh! It's blueberry pie. I was testing out a new recipe.

Pie?

You made it yourself? Are you a baker? Do you know any cake recipies?

Not a baker, no, but I did make it myself. [She seems so proud at that fact.] But I certainly know how to make a decent cake.

Do you? Will you teach me to make a cake?

[Blunt, she is it.]

[FEELING SO USEFUL and proud, she gestures for the other woman to follow her in the direction of her home.] Of course. What kind of cake would you like to make?

[Is smiling like wow, no really. Cake, she is going to make a cake and it will be cake...and cake! You are her new best friend.]

Chocolate? I have never eaten before myself but I know that chocolate is supposed to be very good.

You've never eaten?

[Blinks, but doesn't think much of it. After all, this place seems to be filled with unique individuals. Anyway, opening the door to her house now and beckoning her to follow into the kitchen.]

Chocolate is quite good. Would you prefer to make it from scratch or use a pre-packaged cake mix?

No, I never needed to. I am a Genetic Lifeform and Disc Operating System. You can call me GLaDOS.

[And she follows in]

I'm not sure. What way is better?

I see. You can call me Monaco, GLaDOS.

[Picking up the cake mix because pff she is lazy, but she makes sure that she removes the proper ingredients from the fridge and find a can of holy chocolate frosting.]

The mix is the easiest and most simple way. There's no real difference between making it on your own or using a mix. They taste about the same.

Very well.

....If they taste the same then why are there two different ways? It does not seem practical.

I suppose some people get a sense of pride out of making it by themselves, and I'm sure everyone has a different recipe. Chocolate cake tends to be...standard, easy to make. It saves a lot of time and money, considering you don't have to buy all of the ingredients and make it by hand.

[Andddd breaking the two eggs into the bowl of cake mix now.]

[watching the eggs go in. She actually has a cake recipe memorized and seen it made but never in person before.]

That is very interesting.

Is it?

[Laughs a bit, dumping in the small portion of water and oil before bringing out the spoon to mix it.]

Would you like to mix it?
