A/N: Well, here we go again with me trying to experiment with a different kind of plot. I’m not sure, if you guys will like it, but hey, I tried. Comments will be appreciated! Warning: Unbeta’d as usual.

“Hey, have you guys heard?” Lee Jinki, consistent number one student in academics, asked two of his friends.

The three teens were sitting in their school’s modernized cafeteria. The walls were painted in a classic white with red curtains across giant, glass windows. The tables were made from rich, dark-brown wood, while the chairs were of the same material but with red cushions on them. The floors shined a spotless white and smooth enough to see your own reflection. The food sanctuary felt more like a coffee shop than a cafeteria. After all, students paid for the best in private schools.

Lee Taemin, the youngest of the three, took a small sip from his vanilla frappucino before speaking. “Yeah, Jonghyun-hyung broke up with Krystal.”

The eldest teen shook his head. “That happened last month. Hasn’t Jonghyun been talking to any of you guys about this? Why he hasn’t been hanging out with us lately?”

Choi Minho didn’t shake his head like Taemin did. He merely shrugged his shoulders - something he usually did when he was hiding something from them.

“Okay, spill it, Minho-hyung,” Taemin demanded, curious as to knowing what the fuss was all about.

The athlete simply frowned at the boy and said, “No.”

“Aww…you’re so mean, hyung!” Taemin pouted cutely and grabbed onto Minho’s arm like a spoiled child. “You’re really not going to tell us?”

“Come on, Minho! We’re all friends here. It’s not like Jonghyun won’t tell us about it later,” Jinki continued, biting into his chicken fingers dipped in barbeque sauce.

The tall male gave them smug look. “I’m not saying a word, until Jonghyun-hyung tells you guys himself.”

“Ngh. Fine. Be like that, hyung!”

He sighed, finally giving up and lovingly ruffled Taemin’s hair. “Jonghyun-hyung’s got a new secret fling.”

The youngest looked up at Minho, brows raised in question. “Hyung always has a new fling. It’s not that surprising.”

“He doesn’t really want anyone to know about it yet. So promise me that you guys’ll keep quiet.”

“Yeah, yeah, we know the drill,” Jinki chuckled, waving a chicken finger around. “This isn’t the first time someone’s kept a relationship a secret from everyone else.”

The tall teen didn’t bother retaliating and instead, gave the maknae a warm yet suggestive smile.

Taemin smiled back at the soccer player, before playfully shoving a piece of Jinki’s chicken into Minho’s mouth.

“Hey! Stop flirting, you two! And don’t help yourselves to my lunch!”

They both grinned at Jinki but obediently complied like the good little boys they were. Taemin released Minho’s arm and continued eating his burger.

“So…what about Jonghyun-hyung’s new fling?” he asked, resuming their delightful topic.

“His fling’s in my class, a new transfer student from the US,” Minho picked at his glass noodles.

“She must be really pretty, if Jonghyun-hyung took a liking to her.”

“Actually…” Minho pursed his lips, unsure of how to explain it. “Mmm…it’s kind of weird…”

“And by weird, you mean…?” Jinki pressed on, not liking where this was going.

“She’s…not the type Jonghyun would normally date.”

“Is she some kind of freaky goth or something?”

“You can say that…but…ugh…I think you guys should just see for yourselves.”

Neither of the two disagreed. Jonghyun had always dated only one type of girl, the perfect girl - pretty, skinny, and popular - from his first, Tiffany, to his most recent, Krystal. If there were ever something off about his new girl, his friends would be the first to fish him out of the gutters and save him from having his reputation tarnished.

Like when he dated Sulli. She was the girl in Taemin’s class nobody wanted to get close to. If the whole student body had found out about Jonghyun liking her, they would have turned him into a social outcast. So, his loyal friends helped him out of that tight spot and even got him a date with Jessica, captain of the cheerleading squad. It wasn’t that much of a problem, since Jonghyun only liked a girl for three months at most. True, he wasn’t a picky person when it came to liking someone, but if he wanted to keep his popularity sky high, he had to date people of equal rank. Oh, the joy of private school.

Taemin’s mouth gaped like a fish’s would, after seeing the person Minho was pointing to.

“That’s Jonghyun’s new fling?” Jinki questioned, eyes wide in disbelief. “Is this a some kind of joke, Minho?”

The athlete grunted. “If I was joking, I would have made a drawing of Kyuhyun in drag. Of course, I’m not joking!”

“But…but Minho-hyung, that’s a boy!”

They examined him through the window, ignoring the giggles of several female students behind them. It didn’t bother them that much anymore, how fan girls would whisper and take pictures of them. They were popular, so they were used to it already.

Their friend’s new fling was sitting on a desk, reading a book. His hair was black with several strands dyed red. He was pale with dark eyeliner around his brown eyes. His cheekbones were high, making him look quite thin, and he wore his uniform in such an unruly fashion. There was a red scarf around his neck. His black school blazer, sleeves rolled to his elbows, revealed a red shirt underneath and not the white one required by the school. He’d only been in school for a month, and already, he was breaking at least a dozen rules for uniform only.

“This guy…looks like a delinquent…” Jinki stated, turning to his friends. “And not to mention, he’s a guy! Since when did Jonghyun like guys?”

“Since Kim Kibum transferred to this school,” Minho answered casually. “That’s his name, but he prefers being called Key.”

“Kim Kibum…” Taemin started. “His name sounds familiar.”

“No time to reminisce, Taeminnie. We have to do something about this,” Jinki ran a hand through his hair in frustration. “What does Jonghyun think he’s doing?”

It’s three days later, when Jonghyun finally decided to introduce his new, special friend to them. They were having their usual Friday night hangout at Jinki’s house. It was always just the four of them, so it was offending for them that Jonghyun t another person to their weekly fun. Tonight, they were playing cards.

“Guys, I’d like you to meet Kibum,” Jonghyun stated, arm around the male beside him.

“Hi, everyone,” Kibum greeted them with a smile. “I’m Jjong’s new boyfriend.”

The coke Jinki had been drinking sprayed all over the floor, as he doubled-over in shock. “Boyfriend?!” he coughed out, with Minho patting him on the back.

“Yeah,” Jonghyun chuckled. “Kibum’s really amazing, and I like him a lot. So I asked him out three weeks ago. We made it official last Monday. Sorry I didn’t tell you guys sooner.”

Taemin scooted closer to the new boy, looking at the silver chain wrapped around his wrist. “That looks really pretty. Where did you get it?”

“Oh, this? Jjong gave it to me,” Key ran a hand over the bracelet, smiling at his boyfriend.

“Really? Hey, hyung, doesn’t it look like the bracelet you gave Sooyoung last year?” the youngest asked slyly. Jinki gave him a hidden thumbs-up in approval.

“Huh? No way. I bought it specially for my Kibum,” Jonghyun placed a hand over his lover’s reassuringly.

“Who’s Sooyoung?” Kibum furrowed his brows, voice tainted with suspicion.

“She’s nobody. Don’t worry about it, yeobo,” Jonghyun chuckled, before placing a quick kiss on his boyfriend’s lips. “You’re so much prettier than her.”

Kibum blushed and turned away, smiling. “Idiot…” A hand cupped his cheek, making him face Jonghyun again, before they kissed once more.

Jinki felt like puking.

“Jonghyun, we need to talk,” Jinki perked up from behind his locker door. The shorter male was putting back his books before meeting up with Key to go home.

“Sure, hyung, just make it quick. I don’t want Kibum to wait too long.”

“The thing is…Jonghyun, we don’t like your new boyfriend.”

Minho made no response, too preoccupied with his book. Taemin took a glance at all three of them before saying, “I think Kibum-hyung’s cute…”

Jinki placed a hand over the maknae’s mouth. “What were you thinking? I mean, seriously? A guy? You didn’t even tell us you were gay.”

“Heck, I didn’t even know I was gay…until I-”

“-met Kim Kibum. Yeah, we all know that shitty story,” the eldest interrupted just as his friend was starting to fall into Romeo mode. “But, Jjong, he’s a guy and not to mention, a freaky goth delinquent!”

“He may dress a bit weirdly, but he has a really nice personality.”

“Didn’t he make one of the teachers cry yesterday?”

“Yeah, but he didn’t do it on purpose.”

“He set her hair on fire.”

“Ugh. It’s called an accident, hyung.”

“Fine. We’ll call that an accident. But how about the time he stuck pins in Yoona’s skirt? She was jumping up from her seat every time she tried to sit down.”

“Hey, she was being a bitch to him that day and to Yuri as well. That’s why he did it.”

“He got into a fight with Changmin that day too. What’s his excuse for that?”

“Changmin poured juice all over his notebook. He had the right to stand up for himself.”

“So was he standing up for himself, when he sprayed black paint all over the secretary’s door?”

“He was just…just…” Jonghyun sighed in defeat and bit his lower lip. “This is why I didn’t tell you guys about Kibum. I knew that this would happen.”

“Hyung…” Taemin whimpered. Minho placed a hand on his shoulder, implying that he shouldn’t interfere.

“Why do you guys have to do this, whenever I like someone who’s different?”

“You know how it is here. The school will eat you alive. You’ll end up as an outcast, if you date someone outside our circle.”

“Yeah, and it’s fucking stupid. I can’t believe that I actually bought that idea.”

“Jonghyun, it’s fine. Just break up with him like you usually do, and we can set you up with that cute girl Sunny from Shindong’s class. We-”

“What are yo - NO! Just, just…no, Jinki-hyung, that’s enough! I can’t believe this!”

“Jonghyun, I know you more than anyone. Believe me. This guy is only going to get you into trouble. So, just forget abou-”

“No, hyung, you don’t know me. Forget? You know what? I can easily forget about Sulli, Luna, and Seohyun for the sake of my reputation. I can dump Jessica, Krystal, and Tiffany in less than a month just because I feel like it! I can tell all those girls I love them and not mean it at all.”

His words seethed with frustration. Emotions scattered everywhere, draining out like blood from a stab wound. There was so much he wanted to express, but at the same time, he knew that he had to hold them back, because if he didn’t, he was surely going to cry.

“But I can never…ever do that to Kibum.”

The four friends grew silent. A few seconds passed, before Jonghyun slammed his locker shut. Minho pressed a palm over his chest just as he was about to leave.

“You really do like him,” Taemin smiled. “Don’t you, hyung?”

Jonghyun nodded and slowly smiled as well. “Yeah, I really do.”

It took Jinki five weeks to get used to the new addition to their group, but he was trying. It just felt weird knowing that you were the only straight guy in your fag club. Not that he had anything against gay people. It just really made him feel left out and really uncomfortable.

He glared at the two couples currently snuggling up against each other in the library. “Stop flirting! People will see!”

Jonghyun chuckled. “There’s no one else but the librarian here, hyung.”

“No one else…Pfft. That’s what you also thought when you were taking a shower last week, and what happened? Eunhyuk got a picture of your ass! That’s what happened!”

Kibum ended up laughing louder than expected, making Jonghyun smack him on the shoulder as revenge. The younger poked his tongue out, before kissing his boyfriend fully on the lips.

Jinki did his best to ignore the two, but soon their little kissy cutesy tease show turned into a nightmare make out session. “Okay, enough already! Get a room!”

“No need to be so uptight, Jinki-hyung,” Kibum answered in a breathless tone, lips still in near contact with Jonghyun’s.

“No need to be such a fucking slut, Key.”

His words had stunned everyone including himself. He hadn’t meant to say that to his dongsaeng, but he was just too damn pissed off at all of them. Jinki knew that it was wrong to have poured it out on Kibum. He was about to apologize, when the latter stood up, packing away his things, and left.

“Jinki-hyung, how could you say that? I can’t believe you!” Jonghyun glared at his friend, before running after Key.

Taemin pouted a bit, wrapping his arms around Minho’s chest. “Yeah, hyung, that was so mean…”

“Okay, okay! I’ll apologize to him tomorrow.”

“What happened to your eye, Jinki-hyung?” Minho worried, as they gathered around a table with their lunch trays.

Jinki’s right eye was terribly swollen, his hideously darkened eyelids barely opening. “I don’t know. Some kind of bug bite? Is it really that bad?”

Both Taemin and Minho could only nod with honesty, wincing as they continued to stare at their hyung’s eye.

Once they had settled down in their usual table, Jonghyun had arrived, carrying his own lunch tray. The moment he saw Jinki’s ‘bug bite’, he had unintentionally burst out laughing.

The eldest groaned and covered his face with a tray. “That’s it. I’m never showing my face ever again.”

“But you look so pretty,” Jonghyun teased and got a painful whack on the head for it. “Ow!!! Hyung…”

Jinki threw his tray onto another table and started digging into his sandwich without another word. The rest followed suit, until Kibum joined them after a few minutes.

He didn’t laugh like Jonghyun did, and instead, his lips coiled into a smirk. “That’s a pretty bad bite you’ve got there, Jinki-hyung. How unfortunate…”

The older male felt his blood run cold by the way Kibum had spoken. “Yeah, it is, but how did yo-”

“Karma’s such a bitch, isn’t she?” Kibum added, before turning away from him and stroking his boyfriend’s cheek.  His smirk hadn’t left the whole time, and no one but Jinki seemed to have noticed.

“Kibummie~” Jonghyun grinned, after swallowing his pasta. “You’re not mad at Jinki-hyung anymore, right?”

“Of course not…” he answered sweetly, dipping his fries in some ketchup. “After all, he didn’t mean it.”

Again, no one had noticed the way Kibum’s eyes had narrowed at the eldest, making Jinki shudder at how intimidating the youger’s gaze was.

Lunch had ended without much incident that day, and Jinki silently went to his sixth period Bioethics class. He took a seat next to Yesung, since all the other chairs were already taken.

Once the teacher had begun classes, the room fell silent as everybody took down notes and listened to the discussion on the pros and cons of in vitro fertilization. All the while, Yesung had been staring at Jinki’s eye, and ten minutes into the topic, the latter had just about enough.

“Okay, I know it’s gross and all, but will you please stop staring?” he whispered, holding back his annoyance.

Yesung shook his head and faced the board. “You’ve been hexed, dude.”

“Hexed? We’re in the twenty first century. That voodoo shit doesn’t exist anymore. It’s a bug bite.”

The other teen shrugged his shoulders. “Oh, you don’t have to believe me. I’m just warning you. Whoever cursed you pretty much hates your guts.”

“And how would you know?”

“I’ve seen stuff like that before. You’re lucky. I know someone who woke up without an eyeball.”

Jinki cringed at how casual Yesung had said it and quickly brushed it off. “Dude, that’s sick. Don’t talk to me ever again.”

“Just trying to help. Good luck with that eye. Though you can’t do anything about it, until he takes off the pin. Run while you still have both legs.”

“Yesung, what the hell? What pin?”

The teen turned away and didn’t bother answering anymore. So Jinki scoffed and murmured ‘weirdo’ under his breath.

That night, his bug bite had gotten worse, and he could barely open his eye anymore. Mrs. Lee had asked him to sleep with a cold compress on it to stop the swelling, and Jinki did so like the smart, obedient boy he was.

“Jinki-hyung…Jinki-hyung…”

A voice awakened him from his peaceful sleep. He opened his eyes, only to close them once more as he tried adjusting to the bright light above him. He sat up, taking in his unfamiliar, eerie surroundings. He had been lying on a table, next to another two tables with white sheets covering something underneath. The place smelled horrible and looked strangely like an operating room. He knew that something was terribly wrong.

The teen then noticed a jar filled with a clear liquid and several knives within it. He was about to reach for it, when he discovered that his hands had been tied together and in between his palms laid a doll with a pin in its right eye.

Suddenly, Kibum appeared in front of Jinki and kissed him, tongue forcing its way through his teeth and licking at his lips. A hand pressed against his chest and pushed him back onto the table. He soon recovered from the shock and kissed Kibum back with equal force, moaning as he felt the hand move lower and their tongues fought for dominance.

The younger male pulled away and whispered into his ear. “Who’s the slut now, Jinki-hyung?”

He found that Kibum somehow managed to tie him onto the table, making it impossible to get up. Fear struck him the moment the younger pulled out a knife.

“Key, what are you doing?”

The boy ignored him and headed for one of the other tables. He pulled away the white sheet, revealing a pale, naked body tied up in the same position as well. Jinki moved his head to have a better look and gasped in horror.

“Fuck! What did you do to him?!”

It was Jonghyun. His eyes and mouth had been sewn shut with black thread, and blood was pouring out of several knives stabbed into his torso.

Kibum smiled, stroking the dead boy’s hair lovingly. “I love you so much, Jonghyunnie,” he said, before running the knife along Jonghyun’s neck and slicing the skin to draw out more blood.

His tongue slipped out of his mouth once more to lap at the blood generously flowing out of his boyfriend’s body.

“Nothing will ever come between us again…” Kibum whispered, blood dripping down his chin as he pressed a kiss against Jonghyun’s lips. He smiled once more, before he walked back to Jinki and started repeatedly stabbing him in the chest.

"Die, you fucking asshole!"

-xxx-

At exactly 12:51in the morning, Jinki shot out of his bed, heart pounding wildly against his chest and body drenched in sweat. His breath was terribly uneven. The nightmare had seemed all too real. Worried to death, he frantically reached for his phone and dialed Jonghyun’s number, ignoring the throbbing pain still present in his right eye.

Right eye…the voodoo doll…the pin...oh god...

After a few rings, Jinki heard a yawn and groggy ‘hello’ on the other line. “Shit! Jonghyun are you okay? Please tell me you’re alright.”

“Yeah…I’m fine…but what the hell...hyung…why’d you call so…early?”

He sighed in relief. “I just - nothing. Sorry. Are you sure you’re fine?”

“Positive…why wouldn’t I be? Kibummie’s…here with me…”

The line went dead after that.
