Me on the whole SME/JYJ conflict thing
I read an entry by Sofia (jaeluvsme) and it got me thinking.
I tried to avoid writing about JYJ/SME conflict but here are my thoughts under the cut.
I don't want to depress anyone, but although I would really, really want to see the whole 5 on the stage again singing and I support the AKTF thing, I seriously doubt there is a happy ending to this story. If SME actually wanted to resolve the matter, they would have already done that, because DBSK is/was a huge cash-cow for them.
I do know that JYJ had the right to do what they did. The contract they had was horrible and they wanted to have their own life, better pay and conditions. And I support that, because I believe they deserve it, especially when you read what SME made them sometimes do and you wonder how could they live like this. But I also do understand SME's side, not that I agree with it. It's all about business, money. They've invested in them, promoted them, made them famous. The artists are like models - they are 'a product'. Nothing more, nothing less. And you want the product to be perfect, and you want to sell it. And that's what SME is good at. At selling products. They can't agree to JYJ's claims, because once they do, all their other 'products' will want the same thing. And that'll mean the loss of huge amount of money and lesser ability to control the market. That's something they cannot have in their annual reports.
What's more, can you imagine the boys working again for SME? After this whole conflict? It's like for example, you work in a company, you sue them because they treat you like sh*t, they tell awful things about you/sue you back. Even if you won, got some money from them, would you really want to go back to working there? I don't think so.
You can't imagine how bad I want to be wrong, and honestly, if things DO work out, I'll be extremely happy. But I'm not kidding myself. They are all adult, it's business, it's money and apart from money, SME doesn't really have to care about anything else.
On a brighter note, the conflict allowed the boys to do something more, to develop themselves - JS in Mozart, JJ, YC, YH and CM all star in various dramas. YH and the MJ's concert. It's good.
And one more thing - how long can 5, adult, 25 yo guys live together? And I'm not talking about our over-active fangirl imagination. Real life =/= fanfiction which is somehow sad because I'm sure fangirls would create them a perfect happy ending.
