razzleslash on "Stop/Start"...
Viggo's initial attempts at speaking with Orlando are so practiced, smooth, befitting the pick-up artist he is, and that feeling contrasts beautifully with Orlando's panicky struggle between his role as mentor and his reality as a recovering addict in the face of his immediate attraction for Viggo.
Some of my favorite lines:
"Don't think I can't see what you're doing with that hair. That hair is a deliberate seductive contrivance, like those lips you won't stop licking..."
Orlando knew he blinked more when Viggo was around. Perhaps he was buying time with the action, or maybe he was just more conscious of it because it blocked the view.
that's gorgeous.
The description of Orlando's hitting rock-bottom adds so much to our understanding of him; we really appreciate the importance of his finally accepting Viggo as a lover.
Orlando buried his emotions on that score and got on with his life, trying not to punish Viggo for his progress
I love his earnestness!
When Viggo promised his son that he would try and be a better man, the truth of it was in the cracking of his voice.
Viggo reveled in his relief and Orlando enjoyed the warm echoes of his emotion, as if he were being cured all over again.
They scored most things, mostly people's shoes and their level of homosexual repression, usually derived *from* their shoes.
"... like the whore I'm trying not to be."
"They're both beautiuful but the lower one is my favourite..."
three low syllables of his name rolling from deep within Viggo's chest and out into the air that was wet from their sweat and blue with Orlando's orgasm.
that's razzle-magic, right there.
You're one of my favorite authors in the fandom - one of most people's favorites in the fandom, I would think - for a lot of reasons, and this story highlights several of them.
Your writing is an irresistible blend of cool intelligence and jaw-dropping, eye-popping sensuality. First you give us thoughtful plots, smart dialogue, brilliant characterizations (you write a good amount of Vigorli, but the guys never seem quite the same to me from fic to fic; I think that must be very hard to do, and I appreciate it). And then in the next paragraph you torch the place with your trademark smut and probably enjoy watching us all go up in flames from the hotness of it all.
You should not be allowed to work or do household chores or anything else that distracts you from your life's calling. We need to assign rotating shifts to take care of that mundane crap for you. This will allow you to focus only on writing, and of course, any research in the field that you feel is necessary to perfect your craft.
Oh god, the research. Someone needs to write a story about Razzle doing Vigorli research....
Anyway, as always, thanks for writing and putting it out there!
