Sookie adjusted her hair a final time in the mirror in her bedroom, wondering if it wasn't a bit too much with her dress.

"Well, you've given me something to aspire towards," Sookie decided, playing with one of her flowers. She wasn't nervous -- this was one of those things where the certainty of it had long settled as deep as her bones, and she hadn't looked back once.

However, it was one thing to say that, and to believe it with her whole heart, and it was another thing entirely to actually be here in that white dress she'd picked out in the spring. "Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I'm actually getting married. Married. I'm not going to be a Stackhouse anymore, Emma. How weird is that?"

"You could keep your name, if you wanted. I don't think Bobby would be offended if you chose to do so," Emma pointed out. "...you know, I don't know if I changed my name or not in that future reality where Jack and I got married or not. The triplets had the surname of Priest, but some people still called them the Frost girls."

"I'm a traditionalist," Sookie said, shaking her head. "Wouldn't feel right if I didn't take his name, y'know? And I wouldn't want to make our kids have hyphenates. Stackhouse-Drake's a lot to teach a poor five year-old how to spell on the first day of kindergarten."

"I understand completely," Karla said, shooting Sookie a warm smile. "Sometimes I'm Karla and other times I'm the Queen. When we finally get around to making it legal, we're going to have to have two weddings. One for Karla and one for the Queen."
