www.recipezaar.com I came across this recipe in the Pillsbury Bake-Off annual mini-magazine back in 1994. Since then I've made my own doctored version. For a while I operated under a fully homemade, no brownie-mix version. That was a bit more work, so these days I follow the recipe pretty much as written. I just substitute butterscotch candies or butterscotch chips in place of the caramel. The candies are real butterscotch, whereas the chips are easier to work with but artificially flavored. Trade-off. Depends how much time I have.
