One of my latest social outings was a surprise 50th birthday party for a woman who has been in the hockey community for a long time and is the sister of one of my team mates ... so of course some drinking was to take place. Not me though ... this night - I was playing it sober. There was karaoke galore and I was being entertained watching Dawn and Carolyn sing Goodbye Earl. There I am, sitting backwards on a chair and rocking back and forth on it. Big. Mistake. My ass slid off the chair, the chair fell on top of me, and I hit another chair on the way down. The worst part - there were witnesses! Damn. I hate that. I tried to play it cool (not really possible) and pretended I wasn't hurt. Okay - my ego was probably more hurt than my back, but still.
