I had a very busy TV schedule last night (obviously laying it bed watching TV is the cool way to spend a Friday night). First up was "Suits"
I didn't enjoy it quite as much as last weeks but it was still good. And it had the beginning of a pretty serious storyline for Harvey - and with only one episode left I'm interested in how they're gonna handle it. It was interesting to find out that Harvey worked for the DA before working for Pearson Hardman (very interesting that it wasn't in his bio.
It was cool seeing Mike trying to find out about it but also listening to Donna (who was awesome in this episode, btw) when she told him not to ask Harvey about it.
So, it turns out that Harvey's Harvey is a bit of a douche. That's a shame because he managed to train Harvey into a good guy. I felt so sorry for Harvey when he found out that his mentor had been tampering with evidence and that one of his cases ended up with an unsafe conviction. And Mr "I don't care about anyone" vowed to fix it. I think the whole thing about him not caring has been proven to be wrong.
Loved Mike quoting Harvey's advice back to him - that was cool - and telling him that he'd figure it out.
I also liked Mike telling Rachel to stop playing games - I kinda wanted to tell her that myself. Although I kinda wish Mike had just told Jenny about the kiss, especially as Rachel started it. I don't think Mike should be with either Rachel or Jenny right now. He obviously doesn't know what he wants so it would be better for him to just take a step back from both of them. I quite liked Jenny's ultimatum too.
Oh and Harvey betting Mike on the case? Hahaha! And then letting Mike handle it just isn't fair really, is it? Poor Mike. He seemed almost hurt that Harvey was betting him for nothing.
Loved Mike comparing himself to James Bond at the beginning of the episode. He's the cutest thing I've ever seen.
I can't believe there's only one more episode left now. The seasons just aren't bloody long enough with these Summer shows. They give me just enough time to really get into it and then they take it away.
After that I watched the season three opener of "Drop Dead Diva" (there's lawyers everywhere in my current TV schedule) which was pretty good although apart from the obvious cliffhanger of Grayson being hit by a car I'd kinda forgotten what had happened in the last season. For example the whole Kim and Parker thing? What happened there? Could have done with a "last season on..." bit at the beginning.
I feel really sorry for Jane because she really loves Grayson but it doesn't look like she's gonna get her happy ending. I'd really love to see Grayson fall in love with Jane not knowing she's also Deb - I think that's what's supposed to happen and that's what Fred keeps trying to explain to Jane. Also, I do think Grayson does really like Jane. It's all very complicated.
Oh, and Fred's still adorable. Love him.
Next up was "Medium" - 7x11 - which I really enjoyed. It was cool seeing David Arquette playing Allison's brother (although, hasn't her brother been in it before played by someone esle?). I liked the storyline about the dead guy possessing Michael so he could convince those people do so something that knocked them down the transplant list so his sick wife could get a new heart quicker. Even though he was a bad guy there was something almost sweet about what he was doing.
The Devalos storyline was good too - and it was nice seeing Bridgette getting involved.
SkyLiving don't seem to be showing "Medium" next week (according to my TiVo box listings) but I can't understand why they'd take it off now. There's only two episodes to go and then it'll be finished forever. Doesn't make sense that they'd take it off now. Maybe it's a mistake on the listings or something?
Then it was "Dexter" finale time! I really enjoyed it but at the same time found it almost underwhelming compared to the previous episodes. I don't know why.
I felt really sorry for Quinn when all the evidence was pointing at him - he knew (or suspected) Dexter had something to do with it but refused to implicate him. I thought that was really nice of him. All Quinn could say to Deb was that it wasn't him, he didn't want to answer when she asked who he thought it was. He couldn't do that to her (and maybe even Dexter in a weird way). Nice to see Dexter falsify evidence to clear his name. Shame Quinn and Deb will never really know what he did.
I suspected that Lumen would walk away after they completed their tasks. Like Dexter said, she didn't have her dark passenger anymore and she knew that Dexter always would so she couldn't be with him anymore. I felt so sorry for Dexter when she was telling him. For him it was probably like losing Rita all over again. Lumen was almost a distraction and now she was leaving too.
Also nice to see Astor and Cody back again - and asking to stay for the summer 'cause they've missed him. Aww. Great scene between Dexter and Astor at the end too.
I really thought Deb was gonna find out it was Dexter and Lumen (and maybe she kinda suspected deep down) when she found the murder scene and the Dexter and Lumen were behind those sheet things. Having her let them go was an interesting piece of character development. She knew that their job was done now Jordan Chase was gone and that, as a pair, they would stop now. Obviously she sympathised with number thirteen too. I wonder if she's gonna wrestle with that choice during the next season?
Speaking of the next season, FX showed a trailer for it after last nights finale and for the briefest moment I got excited and thought they were gonna be showing it really soon but then the announcer said it was coming next Spring. And I felt quite disappointed.
After that I watched the 2nd half of the "Hawaii Five-0" that was on Sky2 - it was 1x08 "Mana'o" - I really like that Danny-centric episode and love the way Steve starts to believe that Danny's old partner wasn't a dirty cop. Great ending scene too "I know you". Awww.
I can't wait for season 2. Incidentally, I had a dream about watching the season 2 opener the other night. It was awesome!
