So
this movie is called "9" and they're releasing it in the US on September 9th 2009. So that would be 9/9/09. Sometimes the distributors get it so right, don't they? (and other times they're way off, like releasing the Halloween remake in August). "9" sounds quite interesting actually.
Oh, and Final Destination 4 is now just called "The Final Destination"? I see what they've done there - I assume it's the final movie in the franchise - but I don't think I like it. It's just too similar to the title of the first movie for me. I'm interested in it purely because it's gonna be in 3D though. I still think the third one should have been in 3D like they talked about. The rollercoaster scenes would have been really cool in 3D - and they could have called it "Final Destination 3D" then.
On the subject of movies, I watched "Cursed" last night. It started off really badly, got slightly better as it went on but still ended up being not a very good movie. Christina Ricci's acting was dire and Joshua Jackson wasn't any better. Oh and their chemistry was non-existent. The werewolf looked ridiculous in a way where I couldn't actually tell if that was the point or not. And I'm sure Christina Ricci's hair for much of the second half of the movie was a wig.
It was a shame really because there were a few glimmers of a good fun movie during some scenes but the bad ones just overshadowed it too much. I hear it was plagued by production problems (insert cursed joke here) with rewrites/reshoots etc so maybe that was why. Maybe it seemed like a good idea on paper? Considering it was from the guys responsible for "Scream" (Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson, of course) it was a big disappointment.
Speaking of the "Scream" movies, is the fourth one actually good to go? As much as I love the trilogy (and considering that Wes and Kevin did say back in the day that they'd come back in about a decade to do another trilogy) I'm not sure if I think it's a good idea. I think it's just too late. Time and, indeed, movies have moved on since then. I'm not sure if that kind of horror comedy would even work anymore. The original "Scream" is so 90's.
The last thing I read about it was in an interview with Wes Craven - about a week ago - and he said that Kevin is working on a script (three scripts actually) and his involvement in the movie(s) depends on the quality of those scripts. It's not like Kevin's been really busy in recent years so he might as well give it a go. He's got nothing to lose and loads to gain.
Just checked his imdb listing - apparently Kevin's involved in a TV series called "The Vampire Diaries". I wonder what that'll be like?
This "Medium" icon always reminds of the opening scene of "Scream".
