I headed to the cinema on Thursday afternoon to see the 'Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour". I had been debating whether to go or not as I'm going to the actual tour in August but I figured it's far enough away and maybe she'll change up the setlist/design for the European leg or something?
Anyway, I really enjoyed it (and my Dad who decided to tag along even though he didn't know anything about Taylor or her music said he enjoyed it too). She definitely knows how to put on a great show and it really showed how different some of her Eras are. This was very evident during the transition from the dark era of Reputation ("Look What You Made Me Do" was a definite highlight) and the sparkliness of Speak Now, which was very jarring. Incidentally, there's not enough Speak Now on this tour - yes, we got "Enchanted" (which is one of my favourites) but I don't think one song is enough. Debut only got one song too - in the acoustic section. I think highlights for me were the Fearless, and aforementioned, Reputation eras although everything was done so well and Taylor looked and sounded great in every era (did make me laugh how pin straight her hair was at beginning compared to how fluffy it was by the end).
Obviously I'd recommend this too anyone who likes Taylor Swifts music (incidentally, five girls in the row in front of us got up and went down to the front to dance during the Red and 1989 eras and someone left for, presumably, a toilet break during the ten minute version of All Too Well) but even Taylor novices might enjoy it too, my Dad did.
There were 15 minutes of adverts followed by 15 minutes of trailers (they seemed to go on forever)
"Migration" - animated (potentially Disney?) thing. Didn't look that interesting, tbh
"Trolls Band Together" - didn't know they'd made another Trolls movie, I haven't seen the first one so it's highly unlikely that I'll see this one.
"Anyone But You" - looks like a cheesy netflix/amazon prime movie. Might watch it on streaming. Wouldn't pay to see it at the cinema though.
"The Color Purple" - they've made this again?
"Mean Girls" - they've made this again??
"Wonka" - they've made a new Willie Wonka movie?
"Hunger Games: Songbird and Snakes" - they've made another Hunger Games movie?
"Wish" - animated (potentially Disney?) thing? Looked mildly interesting. Wouldn't pay to see it though.
