So, it seems like my posting is becoming more and more sporadic these days (and sometimes I have to really push myself to actually post!). This post is a TV roundup (like usual).
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend 1x10 - things seem to have got a bit serious since the Christmas break (and there seems to be fewer songs than before). I quite like that though and think the change in tone has worked pretty well.
I felt really sorry for Rebecca in this episode when she realised that Josh would probably never love her - although now she's been given some more hope after he read all of her letter and they had her talk. I wonder what might happen between them? At first I thought that Rebecca would realise that she doesn't really love Josh, she just loves the memory of him, but now I'm wondering if anything romantic might actually happen between them? I don't think Josh is happy with his girlfriend really so who knows?
I thought the Greg stuff was quite interesting but I'm not sure how I feel about is relationship with that girl (name?). As long as he's happy, I guess. I thought the stuff between Rebecca's boss (name?) and that guy (name? sorry!) was quite sweet. I wonder if that'll go anywhere?
Lucifer 1x01 & 1x02 - I've just started watching this and I'm not sure about it yet. I kinda reminds me a little bit of "Moonlight" for some reason and it seems a little bit dated. There's something that's interesting though so I might keep watching for a little while.
I wonder how the ratings are?
Supergirl 1x12 - I thought this was another good episode. I thought the Bizarro storyline was quite interesting and I had wondered what Max Lord was doing with that girl. Why is he so intent on getting rid of Supergirl though? And how can he do all the things he wants to do? I know he's the big bad here but I can't figure out what his motivation is. What are they gonna do with him now?
I was glad that Winn was talking to Kara again and I quite liked the way they did it - they didn't make a big thing about it, he just joined her and James trying to figure things out. I liked that. And I like that him and James have almost become friends. I don't think Winn sees him as a threat anymore (maybe he's accepted that nothing romantic is gonna happen between him and Kara?) so there's no reason for them not to become friends. I am wondering though whether they're gonna go down the James/Kara route. Obviously he does like her (he said so to Bizarro and she knew how Kara feels about him) but he is with Lucy. I do kinda agree with Winn when he said that no-one should be with someone who likes someone else (or whatever that was). And now Kara has called off her thing with Adam before it even started.
I'm looking forward to more.
The X Files 10x03 - I really enjoyed this episode! It was kind of awesome and great to have Darin Morgan writing and directing (he was responsible for some classics from back in the day - and some personal favourites!). And the "funnies" have always been my favourite kind of episodes and this was a good one.
I thought seeing Mulder and Scully proper investigating weirdness was really good and I liked that Scully actually seemed to be enjoying herself. I think she'd missed cases like these! I also thought it was cool seeing Mulder actually questioning his previous beliefs (especially now certain things have been solved and were actually very mundane). Although, even though Mulder was acting almost skeptical in this episode I don't think he can change his whole life that easily.
I thought the were-lizard (or whatever) was a really cool "monster" and I thought the angle of him being bitten by a human and then changing into a human was actually quite clever. Completely bizarre, of course, but it kinda worked. And I thought the scene when he was telling Mulder his story was really cool. Rhys Darby (who played the were-lizard) was really good (perfect for a Darin Morgan story) and he played off of David Duchovny's Mulder really well. And their final scene was really nice.
I thought it was fun having Mulder trying to figure out his smart phone and him running after the creature waving his smart phone around was just such a funny visual for me. And the photographic evidence he got? Lol!
I also loved it when Mulder rushed to help Scully and she'd already solved the case and arrested the bad guy! That was great!
Such a fun episode. We're half way through already and I'm really enjoying this "6 episode event". I wonder if they'll be tempted to make more?
Oh, I also watched "The Vampire Diaries" 7x09 (I got really behind on that episode - I thought it was alright) and 7x10. I thought 7x10 was one of the best episodes we've had in a while. I've been tempted to give up on the show but when I heard about this one I decided to give it one more shot. This episode was a good one so I'm glad I did. I'm curious about where things can go from here?
