I was gonna post yesterday but internet issues meant I couldn't (by "internet issues" I mean the wifi wire had come unplugged).
This week has gone super quick! I know I always say it but it's true. I can't believe it's Friday again already - and it's two weeks til Christmas. What?
Since my previous post I've watched a few things:
The Flash 2x09 - this was the midseason finale and I thought it was quite a good one (although not as good as last seasons) and it was nice to have things back to normal after the crossover episode last week.
I thought the Patty storyline was quite good and it was interesting to find out more about her - and it turns out that she has more in common with Barry than they first thought. I wonder if they'll ever be able to talk about it openly? I wonder how long Barry will wait before telling her that he's really the Flash? Or maybe she'll find out?
I thought the Iris and Joe story was quite good too - it's nice for them to have a family story aside from Barry (obviously Barry is their family too but I guess this is different) and I especially like that Iris has a storyline line that isn't boyfriend related. I was glad she told Joe about Wally. Obviously keeping it from him had been really difficult for her (I also kinda liked the parallels to Joe and Barry keeping things from her last season - I think maybe she understood why they did that now). I'm glad Joe didn't react badly too. It was nice that Wally showed up during their Christmas party and that Joe and Iris welcomed him into their home. Incidentally, I wonder what Francine told him about his father?
I thought the Wells (well, Harry) storyline was good too but I don't know how I feel about him helping Zoom now? Obviously he wants to save his daughter but I don't want him to become bad, especially now they all trust him.
Oh, and Caitlin and Jay was sweet. Loved Cisco's reaction.
I also caught up with "How To Get Away With Murder" by watching 2x06 and 2x07 - things are getting very complicated now and, to be honest, I don't know if I like or trust anyone right now. Not liking characters is usually something that puts me off of watching a show but I think it really works for this one. I just hope Oliver comes out of everything okay - I think he's the most likeable one there and now he's getting involved in all their shit.
Then last night I watched:
"Supernatural" - 11x09 (midseason finale) - I have to be honest, I thought this episode was really boring. I'd really enjoyed the previous monster of the week, filler type episodes so going back to this on going story just doesn't hold my interest anymore. The previous few episodes kinda felt like the old days.
You remember when "The X Files" was on and you'd have the mytharc stuff every now and then? "Supernatural" is becoming similar to that because I always thought the X Files mytharc stuff was boring too.
Arrow 4x09 - this midseason finale was pretty dramatic, wasn't it?
I think we all knew what would happen once Oliver outed Damien Darhk but the build up was suitably tense - especially when Oliver was proposing and everything. You just knew something bad was gonna happen but you didn't know when. And then, of course, that final intense scene happened. I'm gonna go ahead and assume that Felicity is gonna be okay - surely they wouldn't kill her off at this stage? Obviously that bit at the end of the premiere doesn't make things look good but I think it's a bluff, she's gonna be fine and then someone else is gonna die.
The scene during Oliver's Holiday Party was quite good - again, we all knew something bad was gonna go down.
I think this show has got pretty dark now - it's always been quite a dark show (I guess The Green Arrow is quite a dark superhero) but I think it's got darker as the seasons have progressed (which is why I don't really think the crossovers with "The Flash" work that well as "The Flash" is a lot lighter in tone).
I'm looking forward to seeing how things progress from here. I'm sure Felicity will be fine.
Last night I also watched "Elementary" - 4x04 - I always enjoy this show but can never really think of anything to say about it. I liked the friendship between Joan and Sherlock as usual and the final scene was quite sweet.
And then I watched the last in the series of "Bring the Noise". I thought this episode was one of the best ones. This show is really dependent on the guests it gets. If the guests are willing to be silly and get into the spirit of it then it's quite fun and works but if the guests act like they're too cool for it then it falls a bit flat. I think my favourite bit was when Ricky sang though - I'd kinda been wondering if he was ever gonna sing since the show started so I was glad he did in this episode. His voice actually went really well with Nicole's and they were really cute together. They seem like they've developed a nice friendship on this show. I wonder if there'll be a series 2?
In other (but still TV) news: Channel 5 have picked up the rights to the revival of "The X Files" for next year. I'm quite surprised about that actually as I thought Sky1 or BBC would have been on top of that one. I think in the end 5 just offered more money. I wonder if they'll air it close to the US airdate?
