I haven't posted in a while - no excuses really except the fact that there aren't many TV shows on right now. I'm between shows right now (which means the summer shows have finished but the new season hasn't started yet) so I've been watching some movies just for the hell of it. So far this week I've watched:
"Clueless" (1995) - I was feeling very 90's on Monday night so decided to give this a watch. It is the quintessential 90's movie after all! I really enjoyed watching it as I have everytime I've watched it since the first time when it first came out at the cinema (I vividly remember seeing it actually - it was at the old cinema which is now a gym and there was a girl sitting behind me who kept kicking my chair. So annoying!). When I watched it the other night I realised just how much I quote it without realising. Such a quotable film.
"Some Kind of Wonderful" (1987) - last night I felt a bit 80's so I got this DVD out. This is one of my favourite movies and I enjoy it everytime I watch it (which has built up to quite a few times over the years!). I love Keith and Watts together and I like Amanda Jones ends up being a nice person (unlike Hardy Jenns ("with two n's!") who's a complete douche).
"Win a Date With Tad Hamilton!" (2004) - After watching "Some Kind of Wonderful" I felt like watching another best friends fall in love movie so I got this DVD out. I've always enjoyed this movie actually even though it's totally cheesy and kinda naff, that's why I like it! I've always really liked the "you have five smiles" thing. Incidentally I think seeing this was one of the first cinema going experiences I posted about on here.
With no other shows to watch tonight I might end up watching another movie - I'm not sure what yet. I guess I'll see what I feel like (I do need to watch last nights "Chicago Fire" and last weeks "Graceland" though).
In other news: I've also been watching "The X Factor". It's really not working for me this year (not that last years was brilliant or anything). I don't know if it's the new judges, new presenters or that the contestants just aren't good enough. Maybe it's a mixture of both? And the whole thing just seems so fake and manipulated (I know it always has been but it's like they're not even trying to hide it anymore). And the "behind the scenes banter" between the judges and/or presenters just doesn't seem natural at all.
Not impressed.
