Sunday at The City of Heroes

(First of all, I've edited a picture of my "Arrow" photoshoot from yesterday into yesterdays post - that way all the "Arrow" stuff is in the same place)

So last night I didn't go down to the party in the end. I got too comfortable in my room, I think, and then I found the movie "She's All That" on TV so ended up watching that instead. I don't think the party would have been much fun on my own anyway - I would have just felt a bit weird and awkward.

Anyway, this morning I woke up earlier than intended and after a bit of milling about my room - sorting out my stuff and putting it back in my bag - I headed downstairs for breakfast. After that I headed back to my room got my stuff together before heading back down to the hall for the announcements - that was really short so after that I headed back up and got all my stuff and checked out of the room. I left my bag in the special room set up for that sort of thing (I put some lunch etc in a tote bag I'd taken). I then headed back to the hall for the first panel of the day which featured all of the "Arrow" guests - Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Caity Lotz and Brandon Routh. It was a really good talk and you can tell that they all get on pretty well. Especially Stephen and David who seem really close. Again there were some great questions asked and some good answers given.

After that was the "Gotham" panel - featuring Sean Pertwee, Cory Michael Smith and David Zayas. I didn't get to see much of this talk because shortly after it started my letter was called for the "The Flash" photo op. I was looking forward to this because they all seemed so nice in the talk yesterday. After queuing for a little while it was my turn - usually the steward lady tells you when to go foward but she didn't for some reason (I think she was distracted) so Jesse L. Martin and Rick Cosnett (awww) encouraged me over! I think me and Rick did an awkward handshake thing (I have no idea why) and Jesse seemed especially excited about the "Big Belly Burger" T-shirt I decided to wear (after much thought this morning) and pointed it out to the others. Rick then told me my shirt was awesome as we posed for the picture. Jesse also said something about how he couldn't stop smiling about the shirt! Lol! They all seemed really nice, Candice is stunning and Rick is just super cute (didn't like his slicked back hair as much today though - prefered the messy look from yesterday). It was all over in a matter of seconds like they usually are but it was a nice experience and after it I was looking forward to the "The Flash" talks later in the morning and getting the autographs in the afteroon.

I then headed back to the hall where Jesse L. Martin was due after he'd finished doing the photoshoot. Now, I love Jesse, he just seems like such a cool guy and that came across really well in his talk. He sang a song from "Rent" when asked (even though he said he was hungover) and even got a bit soppy when small kids asked him questions (I think a stand out was when a little kid asked him what it was like to work with the Flash and Jesse gave such a lovely answer about Grant Gustin. I really hope he decides to come to one of these things some day). I was very pleased when someone asked him about "The X Files" episode he appeared it ("The Unnatural". It's a classic) and he talked about how great that experience was and told a great story about how he got the roll (apparently David Duchovny just called him up and asked him). I really enjoyed this talk and some great questions were asked again.

Next up was the lovely Rick Cosnett - you know how when you go to these conventions there's always that one guest that you end up loving when you didn't really expect to? Well, Rick was that guest for me (or "Pretty Ricky" as he is, apparently, called). He was just so cute and funny. This talk was another really good one. He did some African dancing when asked and answered some great questions about what he thinks lies ahead for his character. His accent is so strange though - I mean, I love it but it's just such a mixture. And I had no idea that his accent in the show isn't his real one so the whole thing was a bit of a revelation for me. He's a lovely guest and I'd love to see him at another event in the future.

The last talk of the morning was Candice Patton - she said this was her first proper convention (outside of Comic Con and stuff) but you wouldn't have been able to tell. She was really good up there on her own and I loved her insights into her character - especially her answers when she was asked who she thinks Iris should choose out of Eddie and Barry, that there's more to Iris than who she ends up with. Her character is about more than that, which is totally true. Again she was asked some great questions.

After that I headed outside to get some air, have a walk about and sit down for something to eat. I think I headed back it at about 1.30pm with the next talk due to start at 2.30. I just grabbed a seat in the hall and listened to my iPod. At around 1.45pm the afternoon batch of autographs started so I was on the look out for my number on the screen. Jason Momoa came on at around 2.30 for his talk but my letter was called for autographs not long after that. I think it was just unfortunate that I managed to miss most of his talks this weekend. I guess thankfully I'm not really fan of anything he's in (actually I don't think I've even seen him in anything which is weird).

I headed into the autograph room and purchased some 10x8's. I then joined the shortest queue which was for David Zayas - I didn't purchase a 10x8 for him as I decided that I'd like him to sign the convention booklet - we made brief small talk and before I had chance to say much else he handed it back and I said "nice to meet you, bye". A bit rushed but he seemed nice enough, smiled and was polite. He's got a great voice too.

I think I then headed to Cory Michael Smith because his queue was next and it wasn't that long either. He seemed really sweet but as I haven't seen much of the show (and haven't seen anything else in his filmography) I didn't really have much to say and as he greeted me the person who had been before me called something back to him which kind of ruined the flow. He asked me if I was having a good time and I said I was and asked him he was too. He said he was. Then he handed me my convention booklet back and I said "Thank you, nice to meet you".

After that I headed over to Jesse L. Martin - I had purchased a 10x8 of him just because he's cool and his character in "The Flash" is awesome. When I got to the table we made a bit of small talk and then I mentioned that I really enjoyed his performance in "The X Files" and was glad that someone had mentioned it in the talk. He said something like "Thank you for saying that" and handed me back my 10x8 with a smile. He's such a cool guy. I think I say "cool" too much when talking about him but it's just the perfect word for him. I think I then said "nice to meet you" as I left the table. Next I headed to Candice Patton who had the smallest queue. I'd also decided to get a 10x8 of her so it would go with the one of Jesse. She is very pretty in real life - kind of flawless actually - we made small talk and I think I said something about how I enjoyed her character on the show and asked if she was enjoying the weekend. She seemed nice but fairly quiet but not in a bad way.

Then I headed over to "Pretty Ricky" - I'd got a 10x8 of him too, just to completely the "The Flash" collection. He was super cute and greeted me while smiling, again we made small talk and he then mentioned that they all thought my T-shirt was awesome. I said "thank you" and then before I could say anything else (I think I might have actually said "I enjoy...") he asked me what my name was and when I told him I think he said something like "nice to meet you, Tracy" (maybe, I dunno, he was smiling at me! There was something with my name in it). I then said "Thank you, nice to meet you" as he handed me my 10x8. He's just the cutest little thing. Aww.

The final autograph of the day - and the weekend - was Sean Pertwee. I'd decided to have him sign the convention booklet along with the other "Gotham" people. His autograph was pretty rushed actually but he made the effort to look up after he signed it and smile. He also said something like "good to meet you" (or some other kind of pleasantry).  I could have said something more than "hello" but by this stage I was all out of small talk! Lol! He was nice though.

After that I had all the autographs and loads more 10x8's to find room for!

Then I headed back into the hall where Caity Lotz was doing a talk - her talk was quite good again but I don't think anything new was really covered. Some cool questions were asked and aswered again and she wore a really cool hat. After her talk I decided to go and get my bag out of the designated room. I didn't want to leave it til the end because I thought everyone else would be going in there then. By the time I got back into the hall Brandon Routh was doing his second solo talk of the weekend. He seems really sweet and is pretty funny. His talk was a really good one, I thought. I think the highlight was when someone asked him a question which he answered and immediately after that the next question asker asked him exactly the same thing! The look on his face was classic! He answered it again with grace though which I thought was really nice of him. He's lovely.

The final talk of the day - and the weekend - was a Stephen Amell and David Ramsey one and they definitely saved the best for last. This talk was awesome!! People kept saying how much fun they have together while filming, how they're always goofing around and how funny they are but seeing in action was something else. They are brilliant together and just so funny! Like smart funny. I love this talk! They were asked some great questions and gave some great answers. I think the hightlight was when someone asked the question "if Arrow had a musical episode what would Oliver and Diggle's duet be?". David Ramsey didn't miss a beat before bursting into song with his rendition of "Ebony and Ivory"!! And then with perfect comic timing Stephen carried on signing the second verse! Then they harmonised. Absolutely hilarious!  Fantastic final talk! Oh, and everyone kept mentioning Barrowman a lot. He so needs to do one of these. I would love to see these two and Barrowman having a talk together.

The last event of the day was the closing ceremony (before which I quickly headed to collect my "The Flash" photoshoot photo - it came out okay) where all the guests came out on stage and said a quick goodbye and their thanks. And then The City of Heroes con was all over! I had a fantastic time. All the guests were great and I think having a joint con for three shows worked really well. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on guest announcements for The City of Heroes #2 which is next year. I might be tempted.

I walked away from the hotel at around 5.45pm and headed to the station. My train was at 6.40pm so I had a little bit of a wait but not too long. I got home at about 8.10pm.
