Currently Wednesday night and Thursday night are my busiest TV days. Last night I watched
POI 4x07
I thought this episode was quite good - I liked that they were investigating two numbers separately, I thought that worked pretty well. I thought Shaw's case was pretty interesting and I liked the fact that she crossed paths with two agents she used to know - and one of them let her go when they literally ran into each other. I'm sure that's gonna come back at some point - especially as Samaritan can restore that footage he deleted. Is Shaw's cover about to be blown?
I thought the Root and Finch storyline was quite good too - it was a shame they had to destroy that man's work but I guess they were doing bad things for the greater good. That's a worrying trend though, isn't it? And it makes me wonder who the bad guys and good guys actually are.
I thought the scenes between Root and Shaw were quite good too. I like their friendship.
SPN 10x05
So this show had reached this crazy milestone! It's 200th episode! Not many shows get this far.
This episode was probably the most meta they've ever done - and they've done some really really meta ones! I thought the episode title was gonna have a different meaning but it was pretty literal.
The idea of the missing person case they were investigating crossing paths with the school kids putting on a show based on the Supernatural books - only a musical version! - was pretty cool. With bits the kids had made up themselves because the books ended with the end of season 5. That's where the "Fan Fiction" title comes from.
The reaction of Sam and Dean was pretty cool - they were really in a real WTF kind of place! And the kids having to continue with the show because monster of the week was feeding off of the writers passion and they needed to draw her out so they could destroy her.
I thought the scenes when Sam and Dean were trying to convince the kids they were really Sam and Dean were pretty fun - especially when Dean filled her in on everything that had happened since the end of the books and she didn't believe him because it was the worst fanfic she'd ever heard! Lol!
Oh and Adam! And the talk of Destiel! Hahahaha! Ridiculous but it kinda worked.
I quite liked the songs and the final performance of "Carry On My Wayward Son" actually made me cry a little. I think it was the faces of Sam and Dean that did it. Nice appearance from Rob Benedict as Chuck at the end too.
I think only Supernatural could do a show like this and get away with it - and have it be quite good and actually make sense.
Oh, and I just downloaded the songs from the episode.
The Flash 1x05
I'm really enjoying this show so far and this episode was another good one. I liked the "Metahuman" they were working with this week, I thought it was nice that she was a good person too and didn't want to be the way she was. In contrast to Barry, she had a power that she didn't want. And it could hurt people when she didn't want it to. I liked her character and thought it was sad that she didn't survive to become part of the group.
I can't figure Wells out at all - sometimes I think he's a real bad guy (like in this episode) and then other times I'm just not sure what his deal it. What's his agenda? Why did he tell Bette to go and kill Eiling? What's his plan?
I thought the scenes between Barry, Caitlin and Cisco were good. I think their dynamic has really settled now and has led to some good scenes between them. I like their friendship and I'm glad Barry has that support.
I thought the scenes about Iris were quite good as well - I think part of Barry wants to tell her the truth but he knows that telling her might put her in danger. I guess he things the best thing to do is to just stay away from her. Even though he loves her. I thought the scene when he told he thought they needed time apart was quite sad. I hope they find their way back to each other again - even if it just stays as a friendship. I also liked the scene when Barry talked to her as the Flash.
Oh, and the scene when Det West called Barry out on his feelings for Iris was really good. I guess he'd be onboard if anything romantic was ever gonna happen between them then?
After those three I watched "Sleepy Hollow" - 2x05 - I thought this episode was quite good (and directed by Larry Teng who works on so many of my shows!). I liked the storyline of the Weeping Lady and how it was related to Ichabod really. The scenes between him and Caroline were really sweet - it's a shame we didn't get to know her, and see more of her friendship with Ichabod. I thought the scene when Ichabod thought Abbie had drowned was really good - and it showed how much he really does care about her. I liked that he called her "Abbie" too. I quite like the character of Hawley too (Matt Barr who plays him was in "Hellcats" and "Harper's Island") - he kinda reminds me of Deeks from "NCIS: Los Angeles" - I hope we get to see more of him as the season goes on. I think he could be quite a good source of information for them.
I was gonna watch "How To Get Away With Murder" too - it was on my schedule - but I was tired. I'll try and watch it at some point before next Wednesday.
