Castle 6x23
To be honest, I thought this episode was a bit boring and definitely not finale material (until the final few minutes - more on that later). After last weeks episode concluded Beckett's mothers story I think we all knew that this finale would focus on Castle and Beckett's wedding. It was fun seeing Eddie McClintock making an appearance (I hope he gets more of these guest roles now WH13 is done) but the storyline of Beckett having a husband she'd forgotten about (well, not realised the marriage was real), who had somehow found himself on a mob hitlist, was pure cliche. As was everything else that went wrong - the venue fell through, Beckett's horrible wedding dress got ruined (the replacement was better) etc etc. It was very predictable and bordering on farcical.
I think I've mentioned before that hoped something might happened to Castle (not that I wish any harm on him, of course) before the wedding and as the scene of him driving to the venue progressed I knew something would happen. The final scene was just as predictable as the rest of the episode really but I was quite pleased with it. What's happened to him? Obviously his car's been run of the road, has he been kidnapped? By who and what for? I think it buys quite well into my favourite fan theory (from Mark) that Castle is really a spy. Clearly his handler has staged the accident to Castle can get out of the wedding. Or something.
I guess we'll have to wait until September to find out.
All in all, I think this season has been okay. It started well with Beckett working in DC but that quickly changed and then I thought the second half of the season was a bit disappointing. Full of filler episodes when it was time to lead things up to the finale. I hope season 7 improves a bit.
WH13 5x05
I thought this episode was pretty good - I liked the reappearance of Valda and I thought his plan of stealing the warehouse was quite clever. And I thought the involvement of Claire made things a bit more interesting. Given that this is the penultimate episode I thought maybe Valda might actually succeed. I liked all the talk about how they didn't want it all to end after five years - that rang very true with us fans. We don't want it to end either!
I really liked how Pete was the one who figured things out, he was the one who had the plan of how to fix things and defeat Valda. Sometimes they play the silly Pete angle in this show and forget that Pete was a really good secret service agent and he was hired by the regents for a reason. I liked them showing that Pete actually knows things and is good at his job. The stuff about him and Myka was pretty fun - I liked him trying to avoid spending time alone with Myka because it would mean he might have to entertain the idea of actually being in love with her. And he didn't want to admit that to himself. I thought that was quite sweet. He doesn't want things to change and Kelly's revelation last week has made him realise how he feels and now it's awkward.
I liked him admitting into Jinks - hoping Jinks would tell him he's lying - and being all like "I know!" about the weirdness of the situation. I wonder what might happen between them in the final episode? I know the fandom is quite torn on this but, even though I really like their friendship as it is, I'm not against the possibility of something more for the final episode. I guess we'll soon see.
I enjoyed the Jinks and Artie stuff too - it was nice having them team up as it doesn't happen that often and I quite like different dynamics.
So, only one more episode left ever. I'm not really for it to end at all. I'm really gonna miss it. I just hope the finale is good.

I really enjoyed this episode - things are really starting to get going.
I loved the Jack and Chloe scenes as usual - I've always (well, since season three) thought that their friendship is the heart of the show and I think that's even more apparent in this season. Especially given the four year gap and what Chloe has been through in those four years. I felt really sorry for her when she lost their suspect because she thought she saw Morris and Prescott even though she knew it wouldn't have been them. And it was quite heartbreaking when she had to open up and tell Jack exactly what had happened. If she thinks that it should have been her in the car, and that she was targeted because of Jack, then I'm amazed that she's actually helping him. She's still on his side even though her life has been ruined because of him. I hope Jack realises that - I wasn't that pleased with him using that to convince her to help save Heller though but I'll let it slide because that's just Jack's way. He's not the most empathetic of characters and that always shows during scenes like that and I think Chloe understood it anyway. And Jack did give her the choice.
I think that was the best scene of the episode for me and I'm glad we got it.
I thought the action shots were great - London looks pretty badass in this show, doesn't it? Even if Jack came out of the Vauxhall Griffin and ended up outside Kennington Station. My London geography isn't that great but I don't think that's right! Incidentally, the scene of Jack running past Kennington Station and getting into Chloe's car was the scene I saw being filmed back in February. It was cool seeing it on screen even if it was only about 5 seconds!
I loved the scenes on the tube too - that was awesome! Loving seeing London on this show!
The Presidential stuff was okay this week - it looks like Mark (I think that's his name. Tate Donovan) was right when he warned President Heller not to stand in front of those other politicians. I think it's quite funny that the British people are being all anti Heller about it when British people are actually the ones responsible for the attack. And Jack's somehow managed to figure out who the bad guys are already! Typical Jack. Incidentally, I thought the scene at the end by the US Embassy was pretty cool. Jack's such a badass! I wonder how Heller will react when Jack finally makes contact with him - and Audrey too.
The scenes between Margot and her family were interesting too - I'm interested in seeing how things are gonna play out with them.
Still not loving Stephen Fry and the PM though - his scenes just don't work for me at all.
I wonder how long it'll take for Kate Morgan to figure out that Jack's not the bad guy they all think he is?
Finally I watched "Elementary" - 2x22 - I thought this episode was pretty interesting. I liked seeing Sherlock worried about Joan and I'm glad he was annoyed with Mycroft about it. Now, what's Mycroft's deal? Does he work for the British government or something? Not many episodes left now.
