So I ventured out in the cold last night to The Borderline in London to see Josh Doyle play his only first UK gig since 2009. It was a fairly small and intimate venue which personally I liked.

It was a really great gig and it was nice to see Josh playing with his current band - who were also very good (and I thought he bass player was quite cute) and they played together really well and had good chemistry with Josh.

I have to be honest, before going to the gig I'd only listened to his album once (I downloaded it from iTunes) so I didn't know the new songs as well as I should have but they were all played really well - I think "My Jerusalem" is a standout on the album and it sounded great live, in fact it was the song he finished with (well before the encore, of course, which was "Setting Sail" and another song that I can't remember). Other songs from the new album that I remember were "I Figured The World Out", "Solarstorms" and "Bird of Prey". He also played a nice mixture of songs from his previous EP's and some DumDums tracks. I really like that he plays DumDums songs still even though it was a long time ago. He also played a brilliant new song called "Zombieland". Let's hope for another album so it can be on it.

While he played really well with the full band I think my favourite parts of the set were when he performed some songs acoustically with just him and a guitar. When he does that it really shows how nice his voice is. He actually has a really beautiful voice when he's like that.

During the gig he mentioned that they were selling T-shirts and CD's at the back minus the shipping costs (which is what put me off of importing the CD in the first place - when I got my laptop I got an iTunes voucher for free so I used that for the digital copy) so I picked up a physical copy of the CD. I much prefer to have an actual CD instead of a download.

Anyway, it was a great night and because of the early start I was home early enough to watch a couple of my shows.

Arrow 1x17

I thought this episode was pretty good - and it was nice to have the show back after a short break. I wasn't at all surprised to see Helena back again as her storyline didn't really end last time. I thought it was interesting that she was trying to blackmail him into helping her kill her father even though really that's not what he's about. Yes, he has killed people but only when there's no other option. I guess that's the difference between him and Helena. She was a bit of a bitch going after Tommy and then Felicity though. I really like Felicity and I totally ship her with Oliver. I wonder if that's gonna go anywhere now McKenna is out of the picture? I can honestly say that I'm not that fussed about that because I never really liked her, I don't dislike her but I don't trust her and I don't like her with Oliver. Oh, and Helena got away again, didn't she? I assume that it's not the last we'll see of her.

I think the stuff about Laurel's sister is kind of interesting too, it's totally plausible that she's still alive. I mean, everyone thought Oliver was dead until a few months ago, didn't they? She could have survived too? I thought Laurel was kind of annoying when she was yelling at Tommy for not telling her everything. I'm sure there are things she doesn't tell him too.

The Thea and Roy storyline was okay, it's not my favourite aspect of the show but it's okay.

After that I watched "Grimm" which finally returned to my schedule after a long break. It was episode 2x10, it was great to have it back but I thought it was just an okay episode. I liked seeing that Nick wasn't handling things between him and Juliet very well. He's sick of sleeping on the couch. And uncomfortable! I wonder what's gonna happen between them?

I though the storyline of someone doing the job they think a Grimm should be doing was quite good - but I didn't think it was that surprising when we found out who the person was. I was surprised that they weren't actually a Grimm though, they just wished they were.

I'm looking forward to seeing where this season goes from here though. Especially the Juliet stuff.

After watching that I was too tired to watch the new "Criminal Minds", I'll have to catch up with it later in the week.

Looking forward to tonights shows. Love Tuesday nights.
