As usual for a Tuesday night I had a pretty full TV schedule last night. After Five-0 (which I've already commented on) I watched "Elementary" (and SkyLiving were treating us to a double bill - I think when they said that after last weeks episode I actually said "but I have a full TV schedule already!"). It was 1x09 and 1x10 which makes us completely up to date with the US airdate. I thought both were pretty decent episodes. I liked Sherlock having a cold in 1x09 and his deducing being affected and then Joan given him the special tea to make him better.
I did figure out exactly what had happened about 5 minutes before Sherlock did (and strangely enough it was the storyline in a recent episode of "Hawaii Five-0") and it was nice seeing Joan help him figure stuff out. One thing I really like about this show is that Joan figures things out too - and isn't just Sherlock's sidekick. I think they've done a good job with her character. Great scene between her and Sherlock at the end too - I'm really enjoying their friendship.
1x10 was pretty good too - the episode title, "The Leviathan", just made me think of "Supernatural". The case of the week here was okay but I was more interested in the Joan and Sherlock character progression in this episode. I liked how he went for dinner with her family and actually made them understand what she does. Even if he says he didn't do it for her I think we all know differently (including Joan).
I wonder when it'll be back after the break? It's Jan 3rd in the US but I think Sky Living might wait a few weeks.
After that I watched the season finale of "Alphas" - 2x13 - while I don't think this season has been very good generally this finale was pretty decent. There were some great moments between Gary (Ryan Cartwright is always brilliant) and Rosen - and some great character interactions between everyone actually. I think that had been missing a lot during this season. The final scene was brilliant too! I actually said "what? They can't end it like that!" out loud. So is everyone else dead or just unconscious? Apart from Gary? What? They haven't made any announcement regarding renewal or cancellation, have they? I think I might be a bit miffed if they cancel it after that cliffhanger.
At the moment Sky1 are rerunning "Hawaii Five-0" season 1. Right now they're showing 1x21 (the one with Sean Combs). Not a favourite of mine (in fact probably my least favourite of season 1) but I'm watching it anyway.
