Wow, seriously, what is it with these lighthearted summer shows giving me all these feelings all of a sudden? In this episode we had some angst between Wes and Travis (some bickering that goes beyond bickering and ends up with feelings being hurt), some interesting stuff with the chief and his wife (I guess therapy didn't help them quite as much as he's been saying) and some nice character insight into Travis (that scene when he explained why he takes care of his own place was really well acted). I also liked the scene before that when Wes told Travis he had good instincts and he should have backed him up no matter what (which in fairness to Wes he kinda did for most of the episode).
The funny stuff was also present, of course, and it's like USA aren't even trying to pretend they're not writing this show for slash fans. It was fun that their cover during the stakeout was as a gay couple (it was cool that neither of them had a problem with the landlady thinking that) and them living together, even though it was temporary, just led to so many great (if obvious) moments. Loved them arguing over the heat in the apartment and it was awesome that Wes is such a great cook (and knows what Travis' favourite is). The scene in their therapy session when Travis said they were living together and that Wes was the best cook ever only for Wes to then go into one about how messy and unhelpful Travis is was quite serious for this show - sure, they've bickered before but this time feelings were hurt with Wes mentioning how clean his own apartment is (although not knowing why) and Travis shouting out that it's no wonder Alex left Wes because he never says what he's thinking/feeling! Clearly they care about each other too much to hurt each other on purpose but things just get said in the heat of the moment. They usually make up though.
Oh, and "touchdown!!". Hahaha! And eating cookies while planting the bug! Lol! They're so funny together.
Only three episodes left now and there's so much I still want to know - why did Wes pull a gun on Travis (which is what led to them being in couples therapy in the first place)? What happened between Alex and Wes? What case did Wes investigate that made him change careers? Hopefully this show will be renewed but if it doesn't then I hope we find out this stuff before the end (fingers firmly crossed for a season 2).
