They didn't have a lot of time to be able to pull this off, so Sam had dove right into the books to look up this demon, Ruby. Of course there was nothing there, so they had to stoop to other methods to find out who she was

"Yup," Dean said with a nod, leaning back against one of support beams in the building, watching his brother as he worked. He wasn't going to make the mistake of trusting this demon for a second, no matter how much all of the other demons hated her. Something demonic was clearly no friend of theirs.
"We just need to get her knife, and that's it." Sam had to admit, the idea of getting his hands on a demon killing knife was a good idea. It would help them a lot in the game.
He picked up the herb and took out his flashlight. "Here we go."
He started to speak the incantation, lighting the herb and then dropping it down into the bowl, and a plume of smoke came out. He then looked around, trying to see if the demon had appeared.
Dean waited quietly for a while, looking around for any sign of the demon, before giving a heavy sigh. The ritual probably didn't work. Either the information they got from the demons was bad, or she just didn't want to show, but either way -- they were screwed.
He continued to wait, and was about to say something about how she obviously wasn't going to show when a voice finally spoke up from the corner of the warehouse.
"Well, well, well -- Sam and Dean Winchester. To what do I owe the pleasure." The girl was tall and blond, arms crossed in front of her chest as she looked the two of them over, and she didn't look happy.
Sam spun, looking at the demon. A lot of demons didn't really take care of their human hosts. This one... looked like she cared a lot about her host's appearance.
"We've got questions and heard you're the one with the answers," Sam stated.
She looked slightly surprised at that one. "Normally demons don't recommend me for anything. You're going to have to do a little better than that -- like who sent you, for one."
"Your old pal Lilith," Dean spoke up from the corner. "Said you could help us out."
"Lilith is not my friend," Ruby snapped. "Though if she's yours I really don't think I want to finish this conversation."
"Or what are you gonna do? Exorcise me?" Ruby rolled her eyes in return, and shook her head. "I don't have to help you do jack, so unless you had a better reason than Lilith having you by the balls, I think we're done here."
"Oh, we go way back," Ruby sneered. "He's a twisted son of a bitch. Why do you care?" Usually people didn't want anything to do with Stolas unless he was coming at them and Stolas had little to not interest in the Winchester boys at the moment. She had to admit that she was kind of curious, but she wasn't going to push it.
That got a laugh. "No. I doubt Stolas is friends with anyone unless he makes them be. Tends to happen when you treat most of your friend like puppets on strings."
"I mean mind control, short bus. He tells you to do something? Generally speaking people tend to do it. I don't even think your demon blood immunity can save you on this one."
Dean straightened slightly at that, looking over at her carefully. "Wait, what?"
"Don't tell me you haven't figured it out yet?" Ruby said giving him a look. "Way back when, when you were a tiny little baby, Azazel bleed in your mouth, giving you demon blood. That's how you turned into Anthony Michael Hall. That blood allows you a bit of immunity to psychic suggestion from Azazel's other kids, but Stolas is a demon, and a Fallen to boot, so he's a bit stronger than Azazel's version of Ovaltine."
