So I've been into chuck in a big way for a couple of years now. But, until now, I've not crossed the music boundary.
But, over the holidays, I made clear a boundary line between my stepfather and myself, (no, you do not deserve the title of "Dad").
Unexpected side effect, I'm getting softer in my choices in music.
Cue finding
Chuck's music soundtrack.
Indie music used to make me so angry I'd stalk out of the room it was playing in. But now, I've got the indie songs from on constant background replay and I don't feel like bursting into tears.
It's a nice dovetailing of circumstances.
So many favourites!
And I've found some super unknowns that are (in the words of my coworker) "Sick!"
ie.:
Matt and Kim - Yea Yeah is so good and the music video is fun!
Local Natives - loving Airplanes but Wide Eyes is definitely worth a listen.
Okkervil River - Lost Coastlines fills that hidden banjo yearning in my soul. Any song that makes me start singing along without noticing goes on instant repeat!
The Brothers Martin - The Missionary is a rocking good time.
