Hey all, it is vital that you read this. It's an important entry.
Here's the deal: I am taking a leave of absence from Emerson starting today. I've been having a lot of issues with stress and sort-of-depression and grief lately, mostly from the death of Alan Hankin, my professor. That's not all, though. I've been getting really bad grades, and I think it's because what I really should have done was taken a year off before starting college. I just wasn't ready. I'm not ashamed, and I'm trying my hardest not to feel weird about coming home when all of my other friends are doing fine in college. It's the right thing for me at the moment. So be a good friend and be supportive, or I'll cut your face off. I currently plan on returning to Emerson, hopefully in January 2006.
Some other not-as-important details of my life: I auditioned for Hyannis Sound on March 19th! ...I didn't get in. I learned afterwards that I was #5 out of the 4 people they picked, which sucks ass to a certain extent, but bodes very well for me in terms of auditioning next year. And they all liked me a lot... I've hung out with a couple of them since, and will probably spend a weekend chilling with them on the Cape this summer, trying to remind them of how cool I am and that they should take me next year.
My new favorite movie: Wet Hot American Summer.
My new favorite actors/comedians: Michael Showalter, David Wain, Michael Ian Black, and their entire crew.
My new favorite solo musical artist: John Legend
My new favorite band: The Littlest Man Band
Please tell as many people as you can/want about me leaving Emerson. It will save me telling the same slightly awkward story a jillion times.
Thanks for the love and support!
