Did comedy die in the 90s? Some comedians died in the 90s...

Oh Jeez, do we need that awkward silence when you say "Um, Ben, you haven't really... updated this journal." And I go "Uh, yeah, I..." And there's a moment when maybe I'll think of some dumbass excuse, but it just never comes...

Let's skip that.

So some pretty exciting stuff has happened recently!

Saw the Dad and the Molly on Saturday, and that was really nice. We went to Hotel Rwanda with Kara. It was really, really good. Kara cried like 400 times. But it was ok, because I got to squeeze her hand during those parts. Then we went to Fajitas and 'Ritas for dinner, which was yummy. Then that night there were chocolate covered... items.

So I've done a lot in a very short time in terms of my a cappella career. In a year and a half, I've gotten into Mads, formed The Shoulder Narrows, and been accepted into Noteworthy. What's next, you ask? Here's what's next. My next aspiration in the a cappella world is to get into the Hyannis Sound. Hyannis Sound is a summer group that performs all over Cape Cod, and they are AMAZING. This is the first group that I think I'm going to need a shitload of practice and multiple auditions to get into. Seriously, go to www.hyannissound.com and listen to some of their tunes... maybe a little bit out of my league right now, but I think I could probably get in after 2 or 3 years. So that's my next goal.

Last night, I went to a question and answer session with Jonathan Katz! Do you remember that dude? He created and starred in that hilarious tv show Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist, back in like 1995. And he was in some movies and stuff, etc. Seen Home Movies? He's Melissa's dad in that. Anyway, he was hilarious, and while he didn't really give a whole lot of insight into the writing comedy for television business, (which I... want to do? maybe?) he was very, very funny, and it was a real pleasure to see him speak. I met him and shook his hand afterwards. Yes, you can touch my hand.

So that's pretty much it, for now. Seeing the Noteworthy buddies in Hobson's Choice tomorrow, then performing with the rest of the group on friday, then seeing Anything Goes on Saturday. Sounds like a fabulous weekend. See you all later.
