Yesterday was horrible. Horrible! We went bridesmaid dress hunting again, and every single dress they tried on looked terrible, and I told them so. I also told my best friend her butt looked huge, and that she was never going to lose any weight if she kept eating McDonald's and Burger King. Mm... I suppose many people have problems with their mothers.

Perhaps it's better to have those sorts of things out in the open, though.

Oh, I don't have a problem with her, I'm just worried I would have told her she looked fat too, or that she had a pimple the size of Mars on her chin, or that her dress didn't fit right and it made her look pregnant or something.

There's a way to be tactful about saying things like that, isn't there? I would think she'd rather know if a dress didn't fit her well, although perhaps a time when you can't lie isn't the best time to bring it up.

Yes, exactly! I would tell her, but not like that! "Oh, Mom, that's not the dress for you, it's just not as pretty as THIS one!"

Not "Hey Mom, who knocked you up?"

That... would be rather inappropriate, yes. I would imagine anyone would react badly to hearing that, mothers especially.

Yes. It would be bad all around, for everyone involved. My dad would kill me, he still has to live with her.

Oh, about a week and a half now! Not this upcoming Saturday, but...next Saturday. The 25th. My bridesmaids didn't pick their dress out in time, so now I'm having to do it, and it's such a pain. Nothing I pick looks good on them.
