Tally Ho!

May 05, 2011 16:06

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love Covent Garden. Where else in central London would a horse and trap be quite so at home? Or a van that blows bubbles across the street? Or a bicycle tour guide led by dapper gents in tweed?

Tally Ho! offer a couple of unique tours across London starting at £20 for three hours on a new Pashley Roadster or Princess bicycle, as well as straight-up bicycle hire for £6.50 per hour including a lock - not too shabby!

Quoted from the site:

What does ‘Tally Ho’ actually mean? - This a question we often get asked by visitors.  During the 18th Century the cry ‘taille haut’ meaning raise swords was a command used by the French on medieval battlefields.  It was later appropriated into British foxhunting and shouted out when a rider spotted a fox.  Today we use it as an enthusiastic expression to encourage  fun and adventure!
