"I love your message--and you surprise us with it late in your introduction which is a very creative way that I find very effective! You connect very well with the audience and you effectively use humor, sarcasm, and "asides." Your energy and uniqueness resonates well, ultimately allowing your message to be heard with a heightened interest and truly commands the room. I am so touched by your speech that often times I am on the verge of tears (happy tears of course).
And I think it's great how just when I was thinking to myself "wow--no statistics and no social science data and yet this is a great speech"--you simultaneously high-lighted this in your speech.
I think you can succeed at Nationals with this piece--as revolutionary to the typical OO as it is. Nevertheless, I would recommend that you consider doing just one thing: add some (1 or 2 more) examples of family or friends of yours or you yourself for that matter, who failed to appreciate or value the small things and what consequences this may have had for you or for them.
Great job--I was truly moved.
Good luck at Nationals!"
You have to remember that this guy had no idea that I was going to make nationals when he read that.
I've never been so touched by a ballot in my life.
