the trifecta of awesome

The trifecta of awesome is not easily attained.  It demands awesomeness on multiple levels, any one of which might be within the talents of the non-awesome but the combination of which is simply not possible for merely average folk.  When physical feats seem unlikely, impossible, or even balls-out stupid, the awesome accomplish them with ease.  When social grace, tact, and etiquette confine the awesome, the awesome flaunt these ridiculous guidelines with deftness and determination.  When the spectre of fear knocks at the door of awesome, awesome crawls out from under the bed immediately to ask "who is it?" in an unmistakeably imperious tone.  Those who combine these three qualities of awesome deserve special recognition.

Therefore it has been my great honor to be recognized today.

I spent all night taunting the local criminal elements, displaying true awesomeness in being so bold and free of fear as to leave my housekeys in the door lock all night.  The way was clear, but awesome left them timid.

Etiquette suggests that feelings (other than 'I feel awesome!') are to be suppressed, ignored, or at most silently accepted - certainly never, under no circumstances to be talked about.  Lately I've had things to get off my chest...and awesome helped me lift them.

Two feats of such great awesomeness are tremendous alone and enormous together, but still not beyond the pale of mortal man's imagining. The truly awesome go the extra step, which is why when hair stood between me and enjoying a cigarette i simply held down the child-protection cover and awesome struck the flint.

Having done all of these in roughly a single twenty four hour period, I have completed the trifecta of awesome and in the processed assumed a new alter ego, that of Captain Awesome.

Be my Wonder Friend?
