Everyone likes to talk about themselves.
90% of people only ask how your weekend was so they can tell you about theirs.
People don't start a conversation with you just to listen to what you have to say, most of the time they only want to get something off their chest. They they let you know what they're feelings or thinking so it doesn't build up on their own brains, forcing them to over analyze or think to much about whatever is going on in their lives.
But there are exceptions to the rule. There are some listeners in life.
The listeners are the ones who take joy in knowing what others know, regardless whether is something as insignificant as gossip, or what someone does in their spare time.
They don't shrug off anything that doesn't relate directly to their own pathetic lives, they embrace information in all its forms.
They are the people whom you normals spill your guts out to, day after day, until you realize they know everything about your life, and you know absolutely nothing about them.
I'm sure you'd like to think you're one of them.
