when Spike tortured Angel for the ring
Didn't Spike hire Marcus to do that for him? Presumably because he couldn't do it himself. I don't recall Spike being the type to torture his victims that was more Angelus's style.
In 'School Hard' Giles explains how Spike’s nickname originated from how he liked to torture his victims with railroad spikes. I got the impression that Spike hired someone else to torture Angel because he wanted the job to be done well. He wanted to cause Angel horrific pain, so he hired an expert on torture. However, all of that said, I would prefer to think that Spike just couldn’t do it... But I fear those are my rose tinted glasses speaking there, because Spike is just... GUH! He has an extraordinarily, sexy muscled neck. Don’t you think?

understand gen or het fiction, I’m trying to come around to reading other stuff these days that aren’t just filled with pure smut ;-) So, yes, I would love to read the link if you find it, but don’t put yourself to too much trouble :-)

I'm not sure I entirely believe Giles book as it gets Spike's age wrong for a start as we find out in "fool for love". The episode also provides the origin of Spike's nickname "William the Bloody", though I'll try not to spoil you if you haven't seen the episode.

It also prevented Angel from having to kill Spike which he would've had to have done if he'd gotten hold of the ring.
Given how many times Angel and Spike have been in a position to kill each other, if they really hated each other they'd have taken one of those opportunities by now.

The episode where Angel looses his memory is episode 17: Remains. Though I think there are slashy bits scattered here and there in throughout all of the series much the way season 5 was.

I'm not sure if you've seen this website but it contains a number of spangel vids. I'm not sure what a lot of the new stuff's like as it's been a while since I was there and haven't got much computer space in order to download stuff.

I watched it a while ago. I think I may have it on one of my external hard-drives somewhere. About all I remember of it was it being quite explicit.

Have you tried to keep saving the file every time you make a change? It won't stop it crashing but at least you shouldn't lose anything and you should be able to build up the vid gradually.
