Background
William Croelick was born to John and Victoria Croelick in 1976 in the Norwood neighborhood of the Bronx New York. An only child, the first five years of his life were spent in fear of John, a second-generation Irish-American, who started dropping acid and other sorts of drugs on top of a very serious drinking problem. The man would beat Billy and Victoria, burning his son with cigars and more often than not little Billy felt the sting of John's belt against his back and legs, while Victoria would seek solace in drugs. When he was five years old, Billy witnessed his father taking a rather bad acid trip as the man dragged Victoria into the kitchen and leaned her face down onto the gas ring on the stove, killing her and then shortly after, putting a bullet in his head. For thirteen years after that, Billy went from foster home to foster home, growing more and more violent as the years progressed. At one foster home, he forced the family cat to swallow an M-80 Firecracker, the cat burst into flames. Less than a year later he beat a child with a hot curling iron, earning him two years in Juvenile Detention. After being released, he branded his name on a woman's forearm during sexual intercourse, finding that he was sexually aroused by the smell of burning flesh.

In 2000, Billy was put on trial for the murder of Anna Tandy, whose body had been found at the bottom of a ravine in a burned out shell of a car, herself burned beyond recognition and hands and feet cut off to slow down the identification process. The eye witness for the prosecution, one of Anna's friends, had known she was dating Croelick and after he had killed Anna, Billy, drunk, had confided in the friend and told her everything. Four days into the trial, the woman mysteriously overdosed and Billy was acquitted due to circumstantial evidence.

Two years later, the body of Lisa Barnes was found in the same fashion: at the bottom of a cliff in a burned out car, her hands and feet cut off. This time, the woman's ID was found on the scene as well as a silver Zippo lighter with Billy's fingerprints on it. Prosecuted by DDA Powell for the maximum sentence, he was incarcerated and spent the next three years on death row.

In 2005, a Jane Doe showed up at the LA County Morgue, having overdosed on meth.. It didn't take the medical examiner long to identify the woman on his table as none other than Lisa Barnes, the very same Lisa Barnes that Croelick was sitting on death row for. In the span of a few days, with Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson of the LAPD on the case, the LAPD and Johnson attempted to find some way to tie Croelick to the murder of the burned body found in 2002 that was now considered a Jane Doe, and therefore keep him, obviously a murderer, in jail. She enlisted the help of a renowned psychiatrist, Dr Easton, who had interviewed Croelick on many occasions over the past few years, and who had even written a chapter on him in his famed book. Also in the mix was the forensic odontologist for LA County, Dr Nelson Graydon, who had mistakingly identified the original burned body by a few intact teeth as being Lisa Barnes. After meeting Brenda and finding himself immediately drawn to her (blonde and petite being a few of his favorite things), Billy was released from jail and was a free man. That evening, after making threatening calls to Graydon, Powell, Easton and the arresting cop, Andy Flynn, he showed up on Brenda's front porch, explaining that if the LAPD was looking for him and well here he was. Minutes later, at gunpoint and while waiting for her backup to arrive, he confided in her about his skepticism revolving around the case of the Jane Doe, now officially identified as Samantha Jones. Croelick said that he was set up and framed. He went on to explain to Brenda that Anna Tandy had had an excelerant poured into her mouth before she was set on fire, and that she had burned from the inside out, and that Samantha Jones wasn't cooked from the inside out. He went on to explain that someone had planted Lisa Barnes' ID on the scene as well as his lighter. Later on, Brenda pieced together that it had been Dr Easton who had killed Samantha Jones in an attempt to keep their affair quiet as she was going to tell his wife, then he had framed Croelick for her murder and after adding the meth addict Lisa Barnes' ID to the scene, Samantha Jones simply ceased to exist.

In 2008, Bill met Brenda again as Griffith Park in LA County erupted in flames and she was brought in due to it being possibly arson as there weren't any wires or anything of the sort in the area to cause an electrical fire. Spotting Bill in the crowd of civilians watching the blaze from a safe distance, she spent the following morning trying to track him down. Surprisingly, he stepped of his own freewill into her murder room, no lawyer, and was handcuffed and brought to an interview room. He helped her find the source of the burn, which was soon found out to be the scene of a murder, someone having burned a body in a cut and cleared off section of the park. The murderer, however, didn't count on the fact that there was a rat in the pyre, who, ablaze, had run to the edge of the forest and started miles and miles of fiery destruction.

In the end, after Brenda caught the man responsible for the fire and for the innocent deaths caused by it. Billy, then at the very end of completing his lawsuit against LA County in the amount of four million dollars due to wrongful imprisonment in the case of Lisa Barnes, came by her new house and said his good-byes once again at gunpoint. He left her a present: a pair of two off white candles in silver holders, and his silver lighter, telling her that he "would think of her often, Just Plain Brenda, and hoped never to see her not at all."

Personality
Billy was described by Dr Easton as being a borderline sociopath, knowing right from wrong but choosing for himself which was the more important of the two. He's psychotic in every sense of the word, and his appearance is misleading and oftentimes creepy and raises a lot of red flags. Billy's obsession with fire started when he witnessed his mother's murder, and he often thinks about how her flesh just calmly melted off of her face, the air becoming permeated with the stench of burning flesh. What a great childhood memory. On the outside, he appears and is rather charismatic and good natured, though given time, you'll start to notice him staring at you for a bit longer than need be, or simply being wherever you happen to be. He's smart, studying law during his stay in prison, a button-pushing know-it-all, predatory, and emotionally unstable, often laughing at inappropriate times, whether it's at the jokes in his head or simply just because he can. On the other side of the spectrum, he can also turn as impertinent as a child wanting its way. Billy is an extremely dangerous man, as was illustrated when he first met Brenda in her interrogation room, handcuffed to two individual chairs and three armed uniformed policemen with him. Once you become the object of his affection, there really isn't any satiating him until he's gotten what he wants or simply gets bored of you. Some say that him only dating trashy petite blondes with drug issues, is a way of trying to build the family up again, as his mother fit that description perfectly.

Physical Description
Billy stands at 6'1" and is heavily built, not overweight by any standards, but he's not lean either, with broad shoulders and a casually athletic build with a developed torso, arms, and a thick neck. He has short brown curly hair, a high forehead, piercing blue eyes and a disarmingly charming smile set on a strong jaw. Given his Irish heritage, Billy tends to sport a redder complexion than the majority of his caucasian brethren and has sharp facial features, but is all in all an attractive looking man. His body sports a few scars here and there, many from his childhood ranging from cigar burns on his legs, to belt marks along his back; other marks are of course self-inflicted: scars on his wrists, calloused fingertips from curiosity around fire. As a whole, Billy has the type of look that could either be entirely foreboding or misleadingly angelic.

Lesson
It's no big secret that Bill has issues. Big fat smelly issues. He's a sick sick man, a true psychopath. Billy's main driving force in preying on petite, semi-trashy druggie blonde women (sometimes he scrubs the druggie part), is the unhinged thought that perhaps he could put his family together again, being that his mother was also a blonde petite, semi-trashy druggie. That fateful day when he was five, watching his father kill his mother in cold blood really did a whammy on Bill and is most likely the reason he is what he is today. It's my hope that with a stay in Haurvatat that he'll eventually be able to take a step back from his gory fixation and maybe when/if he returns to his own time that he'll be cooled down a notch or two (pun intended.)
