Not a lot happening now. Dave had a haircut last night, and you will be very proud of me, I did not eat crackers for dinner :) After picking up Andy from day care, we had to stop at the vet to pick up more prednisone for Daisy. Then we went to a restaurant and shared a calzone and garlic fries. He loves garlic and onion; that's how I know he's my kid :)
Daisy seems like she's back to her usual self. She's coming to bed with us at night, walking around okay, still spending a lot of time on the couch. Maybe she had the kitty flu.
There's a question going around Twitter "What is the most infuriating thing you've ever had mansplained to you?" My answer is too long for Twitter and probably doesn't meet the technical definition of mansplaining, but here it is anyway:
We had a rotation student join our grad lab. His undergrad degree was in biology, no background in pharmaceutics or materials science. He proceeded to tell me we shouldn't be using polyethylene glycol for our medical device because it's the main ingredient in antifreeze and it's dangerous. I told him no, that's ethylene glycol. Polyethylene glycol is used in medicine all the time-hell, it's the active ingredient in Miralax.
He didn't believe me.
Anyway, I'm at MIT today, and my other main task I think is going to be cleaning out my inbox. I'm perpetually getting emails that my mailbox is almost full. I'm a terrible email hoarder.
