So, lets see...
Most of this week was spent on the assumption that we would get married on May 5th. Then we found out (Friday) that Sean wasn't going to be here. (Kristin's grad) I don't blame him, I would rather go to that. So now we have a new maybe date, we know we can get the church and the minister, Jamie is just checking to see if his Mom/Dad/Brother/Sister-in-Law are going to be around.
I'm thinking the best thing to do at this point is book the church and pastor, then worry about the reception hall and catering after. I just really want a firm date.
It has been brought to my attention that four months in the wedding world is short notice.. for instance, all the (stupid) wedding magazines (read: dress adverts) have planning lists that start one year in advance. I don't want to wait a year. The only reason I can see for waiting that long, is to have more time to plan.
Friday we (Jamie, Mom and I) spent looking at churches and halls, then a welcome break occured with a visit with Marilee and the boys and off to a Bridal Show. The show was interesting. We went to the smaller one at the Westin Hotel (same weekend there was one at the Congress Centre, much larger). We entered all the draws, it would be nice if we won something useful. or something useless... that's fine too.
Saturday morning Mom and I left for Collingwood (Jamie and I stayed up late watching Firefly). We arrived just in time for dinner at the Manor (Sunset Manor, the nursing home my Grandpa is in).
I got my first lesson in Grampa care, and then after coming home and having dinner, I got my first lesson in taking Grandma to the Emergency Room. We got home pretty late, but Grandma was okay, just an irregular heartbeat.
Then it was up bright and early for breakfast at the Manor. I came home after and went straight back to bed with a heating pad. Cramps suck. Tomorrow should be fine, but today is pretty miserable. Mom left a couple hours ago. And just phoned. She left her jacket on the coat rack. Oh well. It will just have to wait until Jamie comes up. Hope I don't forget to send it back with him.
Three weeks seems an awfully long time. Hope the internet company can come and install high speed soon.
