Well I'm home. And I've got jet lag. So it's just after six in the morning, and I've been awake for the last three plus hours. IT STINKS.
Especially since I go through the day in a relative fog, especially in the evening.
But let me tell you about my adventure home.
Hong Kong to Tokyo, wonderful flight, had the exit row all to myself. Bliss.
Tokyo, I was there for almost four hours, so I walked from one side of the terminal to the other, several times. Then around and around in circles. This was an attempt to get myself tired, so I would sleep well on the flight. I think the gravol I took had more effect.
Arrival in Chicago, not too bad. But from the time I landed at Terminal 5 and transfered myself to Terminal 3 my flight was cancelled. So I had minor hysterics trying to figure out what the heck to do. They put me on a flight for 9 AM the next morning, and after almost weeping at the check in counter the airline helped me get a hotel room (so I didn't have to sleep on a cot at the airport like hundreds of other stranded passengers). It was miserable, because at that point all I could think was "What the **** do you mean I have to wait until tomorrow morning, I want to see Jamie NOW!!!!"
But it gets better. Our flight was fourty minutes late leaving Chicago, because... We needed to get the plane sprayed with de-icer. And the idiot they had doing it (oh, and the aren't enought spray trucks either, they were short) sprayed himself in the eye and had to go in for medical attention. So we had to wait for another truck...
So by the time I actually landed, went through customs and got to Jamie, it was about 1pm.
He brought me 2 dozen pink roses...
Because of the jet lag, I don't really remember much of the rest of Thursday. Yesterday I did lots of unpacking and Jamie came over after work. We went down to Light Up The Night. It was fun, we ran into Wendy, Ali and Dan. And I saw lots of other people. But not K-A, because she's too cool for fireworks :P.
Jamie ended up staying the night, so he's downstairs, don't know what we're going to do today. Tonight we're going to Rose's play, and tomorrow I'm going (with my parents and Sean) to Jamie's birthday party. This will be the big, his parents meet my parents thing... If my brain was more functional, I would probably be a bit more worried about this... Then I'm staying over at his parents (oh yes, and all his family is going to be there too) and the two of us are going to look after his brother's three kids while Jason and Jenn go Christmas shopping. It was my idea, I just hope that I'll be able to keep awake.
