[ALCOHOL

ALCOHOL EVERYWHERE.

... by which I mean, one of Fallen London's residents has commandeered the dining room for what looks to be a nice, one-person wine tasting party! The table has been cleared of food and is littered with a variety thankfully still mostly-filled wine bottles (he has not let himself go that much). The variety is vast, ( Read more... )

[Alcohol? Oh, so there. This Shinichi pick up a wine bottle consideringly. The label does not mean much to him currently, but he is willing to learn.]

They do say that sake is better shared. Would you welcome company?

[Takes a moment to assess this Shinichi's apperance, before a slow grin curls up the corners of his lips]

Drinking alone is always a tragic event. You are more than welcome to help yourself.

It would not be meet of me to allow such a tragic event to occur.

[Shinichi bows politely before retrieving a wine glass for himself from another table and helping himself to a seat.]

What are we drinking?

Wine, of course! A wide variety-- what is more to your taste, red or white?

[Sitting up to start going through bottles]

I have yet to fully sample the fruits of this mansion's hospitality. I will try whichever you recommend.

I have an acquired taste for the Neath's special brand, but the surface wine is much sweeter.

[Pouring him some Merlot, then. START OFF WITH A STANDARD RED]

The Neath? Is that where you hail from?

[Shinichi's happy to accept the glass of red, and once Kaito is done pouring his glass, he will attempt to return the favour -- Japanese custom dictates that you don't pour your own drinks, but pour those of those around you and they will reciprocate.]

[Actually aware enough of this custom, thanks to his connections with the Gracious Widow, so he lets Shinichi do this thing]

It is. It's quite a charming place, once you find yourself used to it.

[Excellent. Wine for everyone! Shinichi takes a sip of his wine thoughtfully considering the flavour.]

This is not unpleasant, this wine of yours. The Neath -- you have companions here?

[Gladly takes his glass and inhales]

Of course it isn't. It's rather pleasant as far as liquors go. [tilts his glass back and takes a bit more than a sip] Of course. I have several, it seems.

[Shinichi has no issues with making himself equally comfortable in his seat, leaning his sword against the chair.]

I believe I have made their acquaintance.

Aaaah~ How lucky. Miss Aoko, or Mr. Kudo?

[Shinichi raises an eyebrow but decides he is going to attempt these ... odd titles.] Mr Kudo. He was accompanied by a woman he referred to as 'Miss Mouri' -- they were kind enough to entertain my wife while she waited for me. I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting your Miss Aoko.

Aaah, that is right. Miss Mouri is here as well. A fine woman, isn't she?

[eyeing this Shinichi's state of dress and drawing some conclusions...] I believe I have also had the pleasure of meeting your wife, assuming she is the Miss Mouri who dresses in a similar fashion as you.

[Shinichi inclines his head.] I cannot disagree.

[The samurai's expression brightened in understanding.] Ah, that's right. She said she'd been grossly insulted by a pair of newcomers.

... an unfair statement. Neither of us intended to insult her.
