When the power had gone out, Conan had simply found some candles, lit them, and continued reading. It wasn't like he was inexperienced with the dark and feeling around for items are second nature to someone who had to go through several more years never being able to LOOK into shelves that were too high. So there were at least some candles scattered around the room

The walk to the other Kaito's living quarters was enough to calm Kaito down. It didn't mean he stopped looking over his shoulder every several steps or wasn't jumpy to boot when he walked down that long hall wearing nothing but a bed sheet, but he did manage to recollect enough of himself to pull back a reasonable facsimile of his poker face.
So when the knock was answered by another young looking Conan, Kaito had prepared himself such that he wasn't holding to older Conan's hand and even managed a slight smile.
Although as soon as the call for the other Kaito came out, it made Kaito realize, this was going to get confusing fast.
"Don't you guys have--" his whispered words to digi-Conan was interrupted by a very inopportune growl of his stomach. "Oops."
It just so happened that he'd been meditating while the power was out. There wasn't much else to do while it was out, except practice his magic maybe, but he quite a bit to think about still, and meditating was always a good way to organize his thoughts. He did however hear the knock on the door and came out of his state when Conan answered it, so he was already standing up when the older Conan called back to him.
"That many guests at a time like this?" He wondered as he came over to the door. He looked the group over in a deceptively casual way, stuffing his hands in his pockets. His other self definitely didn't look to be in good shape and what was with the butterfly? He paused to regard it with suspicion before turning his attention on his double again.
He tilted his head slightly and smiled a bit at the other Kaito. "Well, I guess you guys might as well come in. We've got snacks, if you want.
"There's a problem. Not sure why they came here," the oldest Conan said. "I'll get the snacks," Conan said, heading for the kitchen. "And go ahead and make up those nicknames. We got a few too many this time

"I can be Kuroba," Kaito volunteered distractedly. His main attention remained on the other Kaito, his first experience encountering a dimensional twin. It was a strange feeling, and, despite his own fears at what the other Conan's... Edogawa? told him, he wasn't getting any Absinthe vibes from the man at all.
His embarrassed smile at his counterpart came easier after that. "Sorry for crashing your place," he said, rubbing at his messy locks with his good arm. Not only did he probably look like an incomplete mummy and worse for wear, he was still walking around with only a bed sheet.
"Do you think I can borrow some clothes along with those snacks?"
This Kaito was also still mainly focused on his double too, as he moved to let the group enter, though he was far more used to the mansion's peculiarities than he was. "I'm fine with that." He said in response to who was going to be called what. Definitely a good idea to decide on names if they were going to be talking to each other. At least it was better than Ninja Kaito...
And he nodded at the request for clothes. "Sure go on ahead." He certainly didn't need to continue going around in those things.
"You might have to go get them, Kaito," Kudo said, coming out with a tray of snacks and some water, setting it down on the coffee table by the couch. "I'm going to guess, with his rush job, that Kuroba is the source of the trouble?"
"...well, not the source. More of the bait," Edogawa said. "The owner of that butterfly is confronting it right now."
"Is that why you don't have more?" Kudo asked.
Conan looked at the butterfly. "I can't manipulate them. I just ask and they respond."
"Ah, so that one can see us through the butterflies. Makes sense if it's his magic," Kudo said like that was a perfectly SANE conclusion.
Not more than 10 minutes in this new location and Kaito was beginning to feel uncomfortable. Surprisingly the source of his distress didn't come from his other self, but from the matter of factual Kudo.
He smiled at his double, but not before his gaze flickered uneasily to the apathetic boy. He hastily looked away before he could be caught staring though.
"Ah... thanks, Kaito-k... -san. I should probably get those clothes before I catch a cold. It was unfortunate that the Mansion took me while I was in a state of undress." No details. He'll let Edogawa do the talking since he wasn't sure he trusted these strangers enough yet to voluntarily reveal more himself.
"I'll help then." Kaito had been about to anyway, so he lead Kuroba over to the closet where his clothes were kept.
"I know it's a little creepy, but he's been through a lot." He said, having noticed the way Kuroba had been looking at Kudo. He made sure to keep his voice down so the Conans couldn't hear. "He was a lot worse when I first met him."
Conan could sympathize with Kuroba. Something about Kudo was kind of...unnerving. He has been emotionally detached before, that wasn't odd, but something about this one...
Kudo watched the Kaito's leave before looking at the other two. "...don't worry about it. I doubt it'll happen," he said, picking up a cup and taking a seat.
"Huh? Ah...okay," Conan said. It was almost like he...stopped trying.
"What, no--" Kuroba cut off his protest to glance over his shoulder at the kiddies, then turned his attention back to Kaito. "Maybe a little creepy. He has the look of having been through it," Kuroba confirmed. "I'm glad you were able to help him some."
He noted the choice of clothes in the closet with detachment. "Do you have something... ah... loose?"
Kaito gave a short laugh. "Eh, well, he helped me too."
Leaving it at that, he looked over the selection to see what he could find that would be easy for him to put on with his arm in the condition it was in. It only took a moment to spot something fitting. "Here." He said, grabbing a large T-shirt with wide short sleeves. He didn't actually remember that being there, but this being the mansion, he didn't question it.
Kuroba decided to not ask, knowing that everyone had their own secrets, and from what was hinted, his double had more than his share.
"That looks good," he chose to answer instead, grinning in a way that he didn't feel like but did for appearances sake. "Sorry to be such a bother. We need to find a place to hide out for a few days and you came highly recommended."
Kuroba was in the process of tucking his splinted arm into the shirt, head hidden in the midst of black fabric, when he heard the small footsteps walk up. Given how silent they were, he guessed it was Kudo before he managed to drag both head and arm through their respective shirt holes.
"That will depend on what you mean by 'handle'," he said, slightly guardedly and eyes skipping over to Edogawa and Leormon by the other end. "I... had plans." Kaito bit his lip, a small sign of nervousness that betrayed his state of mind.
"You can count on us to help out if you need it." Kaito said immediately, though a little guarded too, a small frown on his face being the only thing betraying his own worry. It wasn't like the idea of an evil Shinichi was anything new, but he'd been discretely eavesdropping on the Conans' conversation and he didn't like what he'd overheard.
A Shinichi who was like Raven? That was... a highly unsettling thought.
