[...So walking into a wall of mist with no warning one thing; turning back around to find himself standing in front of a mansion that definitely hadn't been there a moment ago was another. Not to mention the city appeared to be entirely gone. Was this a dream ( Read more... )

[He tenses as he realizes that someone else is there, but relaxes when they don't immediately try to kick him out or reprimand him for trespassing. However, that was a peculiar greeting... in fact, immediately upon taking a step inside, a lot about this didn't feel quite right. He forced that unease aside for now; the only way to clear this mystery up was to learn more.]

[He tilts his head slightly; innocent little boy demeanor is a go.]

It's true I've never been here before, but why did you ask if I'm 'new'?

Hi new Conan, have another new Conan -- if you can use new to describe someone who has stepped out of a fictional Edo-period Japan, complete with rough cotton yukata, bare feet and no glasses.

Conan looks up at the door opening and merely stares.

[His first thought is that he was looking at a mirror, but that only lasts a brief moment. They were dressed completely different.

He stares right back, and the longer he does, the more certain he is that he's looking at... himself.]

....Ah?

[What the heck was going on here?]

[It has occurred to Conan that his counterpart is probably staring at him for a reason, and he bows his head in greeting.]

Good morning.

[Shinichi'd been curled up in a chair in the lobby, reading one of the mysteries he'd found that he assumed were taken from some other world than his - it was an interesting education, at least.

He looked up at the sound of the door being opened, and the smell of fresh air and... another him. Joy.]

Fresh meat, huh?

[Note that his tone is somewhat disinterested, and he hasn't moved from his position in the chair at all. His only real movement is to flip the page he's on.]
