Gin is tense, wary as he walks down the corridor, eyes flickering constantly over his surroundings, noting everything new, different, anything that could possibly say trap. One hand is hidden in his pocket, curled loosely around his gun, and his steps are carefully measured to be quiet on the carpeted floor.

Please don't surprise him.

Oh, Haibara's not planning on doing anything that might tip their hand. She's very subtle -- invisible, noiseless, only a slight chill in the air and a distance between her and Gin. She's been waiting for this.

Still quiet, the soft pad of his shoes against the carpet. Something... is in the air? Gin's suspicions are aroused, but he couldn't tell you how he knew. He's learnt to trust his instincts, though, so he keeps alert, finger readying on the loaded gun in his pocket. Just in case.

A less experienced ghost might pull back at that. Haibara's learnt not to. Keep this up long enough, in a controlled environment, they start to think you're normal. Never even notice when you move in--

The shadows reach out to her as she passes but she ignores them, pushing them back.

Again, and this time it's something, a flicker at the corner of his eyes, something Not Right.

Gin glances behind him casually, taking in all the details behind him with ease. An empty corridor. And the same ahead.

So what was making him so twitchy?

Aoko had found a room to drop off her stuff and now only carried a hand bag. A bulky handbag, but nothing too abnormal about it from outside appearance.

Then again, it might only seem normal in that most people don't expect a woman to be carrying five different weapons on their person.

She turns into the hallway down from Grin, stopping as she looked at him. For the briefest moment, there's tension, but then relaxation.

Oh, she knew that face, but Aoko also knew how to hide her own body language when chasing the assassin who read people so well. "Hello sir," she called, raising a hand in greeting. "I don't think I've seen you around here before."

As Gin abruptly remembers why he dislikes people in general.

They talked too much.

He nods in lieu of greeting, words blunt as he speaks, hand still in his pocket and resting lightly on the gun there.

"You wouldn't have. Where is this place?"

So either this wasn't the Gin from her world or she greatly underestimated her fame. Or his apathy. He could be that apathetic.

Either way, it was an advantage.

"I've been told it's a nexus in the multiverse. That was from a friend ten years younger than he should be," Aoko said with a shrug, walking over to him. Of course, she had no delusions of what he probably had in his pocket, but to act like she did would be more of a give away.

A nexus in the multiverse. That meant multiple versions of people, meant different versions, meant that all sorts of things could happen - if, of course, she was telling the truth.

Gin didn't react as she walked closer, though he shifted a little to face her properly.

"Hn. What else do you know?" Better to get information now, while she was still friendly.
