[Does the dressing room have a ballroom? Shinichi seems to have found one. The ghost has chosen a quiet corner of it to haunt, where by haunt we mean fool around with a soccer ball. He's in a cheerful mood, pale as ever and wearing his usual garb of suit and baseball cap, but solid enough that the ball only goes through him every fifth kick or so.

*Kaito wanders in and spots Shinichi messing around with a soccer ball. He pauses for a moment, as this is the first time this particular Kaito has seen Kudo Shinichi outside of pictures, taking in the funeral garb and the fact that he looks paler than could possibly be healthy. Also the baseball cap.

He also catches one of the times the ball goes through him.

... Well that just figures.*

[The feeling of being watched by someone unseen is nothing new to a ghost, so the ball is bounced a few times more before it occurs to Shinichi that he isn't actively haunting anyone. He grins as he takes in Kaito, the other by now a familiar face trapping the ball underfoot as he pauses to greet him.]

Lost? Or looking for something?

*he recovers quickly enough, poker face sliding into place instantantly as he shrugs* Nah. Just looking around!

Say, aren't you Kudo Shinichi? The high school detective?

[deaduction]

[A Kaito he hasn't met then. Shinichi nods.] That's me. And you're Kaito Kuroba, magician?

Yep! That's me! *as if to proves his point, poof! there's a dove out of his empty hand which flies around before perching on his shoulder*

Heh. My reputation proceeds me it seems! *though he'd probably just met another him or two around this place*

More like you proceeded you. You're the --[ Should he count Kids or not? ] fourth Kaito I've met.

[Shinichi is careful not to move -- he tends to have a bad effect on animals and he doesn't want to startle the dove more than he can help.]

Really? Am I that popular with this place?

*He considers Shinichi for a moment, glances sideways at the dove, which seems calm enough considering, before waving a hand over the dove, which disappears. He figures it would probably be best for both this Shinichi and the dove not if she wasn't exposed to him for too long.*

Seems that way. Though I'm not sure that being popular with a place like this is necessarily a good thing. There's a Hattori here who hasn't left in months.

[Shinichi relaxes as the dove vanishes.] You're new here?

[stainedmoonlit]

Months, huh? That's a pretty long time to be stuck here. *He didn't really like the idea of being stuck here that long*

I've only been here for a little over a week.

[deaduction]

She's not happy about it at all. The people that have been back say that time doesn't seem to go by as quickly as in this place but even so ... [Shinichi shrugs, turning his attention back to the ball.]

That's long enough to have an opinion on this place. What do you think?

*well at least there's that, but..* She? *Well a girl Hattori shouldn't be that surprising in a place like this, but still*

Well, it sure is... interesting. *something about how he says that word makes it clear he doesn't really like what he's seen so far. And he doesn't, considering that the only two alternate versions of his friends he'd met so far had been hurt by an insane version of himself*

She. [Shinichi states firmly, impressed by Kaito's poker-face. Then again, he might have spent that much time around his version Heiji?]

[Shinichi raises an eyebrow at that.] Not a fan I take it?

*Well, this Kaito has always had a very good poker face. It comes from constantly needing to hide his emotions a lot more than anyone should ever have to. In this case though, it's more that no he hasn't spent much time around his version of Heiji*

*his expression turns dark* Nope. Not at all.

Seems you've been here longer than me. What do you know about a guy called 1412?

[Surprise is clear on Shinichi's face at the question -- replaced in a moment by a mixture of wariness and concern.] More than I want to -- and still not enough.

What do you want to know?

*He probably shouldn't be talking about this, especially to Shinichi of all people, but he wanted to be sure the guy wasn't going to go around hurting more of his friends*

Well, the Hakuba from his world gave me some of the details. I just want to know what anyone else might know about him.

Hakuba's the expert. I doubt there's much I can tell you that he can't. [Shinichi shrugs, still wary.] Guy's insane.
