Muscles shaking - lactic acid buildup - steps slower than they should be... blood dried on his cheek from a shallow cut, stinging every time he winces from other pains. He supresses a hiss between his teeth as he steps slightly wrong on his ankle - mild sprain - and catches himself on a wall with his free hand, the other tucked against his chest -

It also worried him a bit that this is the second person with a broken wrist he'd encountered. "What the hell happened to you?"

"Kud--"
No, wait. The expression is wrong, the hairstyle different, and other minor differences. This isn't Kudo.
"Who are you?"
[ooc: and now I must flee ;; will be tagging this evening]

"Wait, 1412?" He asked, a little confused. "Isn't that the Kaitou Kid's Interpol designation?"
He didn't like the sound of that. Since he now knew that this place contained versions of people from other worlds, that made it a definite possibility this was another him. Kid made it a rule not to hurt people, particularly not the detectives who chased him. Dove on the other hand... Well he'd never hurt anyone who wasn't a target unless they were in his way.

"Apparantly it is," he answers, taking the proffered hand and being careful to not put any weight on his injured ankle as he regains his feet. "But the Kaitou Kid does not exist in my world. There's only 1412."
Once he's on his feet properly, he straightens his jacket minutely, a brief nod of thanks that turns into a wince as his neck protests.
"My name is Hakuba Saguru."
Reply
"So does this 1412 guy make a habit of breaking wrists?" He asked darkly. He couldn't imagine hurting Aoko, even as Dove, but if this guy was the one who hurt her...

"And as a matter of fact, yes, he does." Hakuba shot his cuff briefly to show Kaito the network of scars on his wrist - a result of the bone grafts and metal scaffolding required to ensure that it healed correctly.
"Someone you know?" he queried, wondering just how many people 1412 had decided to 'play' with beside him.

He winced inwardly at the scars on Hakuba's wrist. Then he nodded. "A version of Aoko-chan. A friend of mine. Other than that she wasn't quite as bad off as you."
"Speaking of which, I know where the infirmary is if you need help getting there." And it looked like he did. He really shouldn't be walking on that ankle.
Reply
"I should be able to make it on my own, but your assistance would be appreciated. I think I must have taken a wrong turn somewhere."
Reply
It turned out that it really wasn't that far from where they were, as it only took a minute for him to find the infirmary.
"Here we go!" He announced cheerfully. "One stop shopping for all your post-encounter-with-a-psycho needs!" Okay, maybe that was a bad joke, but at least he was trying to lighten the mood?

"If you value you life, don't say that in front of him."
He walks into the room past Kuroba, then turns to look at him again.
"I called him mad once, Kuroba-kun, and nearly lost my arm for it."
That had been the first time he'd thought he truly might die at 1412's hands, the first time he'd had the reality of his situaiton driven home. 1412 was dangerous.

He stepped inside and started to search the medical cabinets for bandages.
Reply
Since Kuroba seems to have bandages well in hand, Hakuba takes the opportunity to sink down in the nearest chair, a suppressed hiss as he finally gets to rest his ankle. He carefully lowers his wrist onto the table next to him, flexing the fingers minutely to discover the extent of the damage.
Reply
"So, what's this guy's story anyway? Anything I need to watch out for?" He asked, keeping his tone casual.
Reply
"But you'd probably be more interested in the fact that he's an assassin."
Reply
"Idiot. What are you doing, getting mixed up with a guy like that?" Bad enough that Hakuba had in fact met Dove once before and was obsessed with Kid. He'd never even realized what Dove was and the Kid was a thief who never hurt anyone. If they were both lucky he'd never realize one had been the other once.

Complicated enough that now, he didn't particularly want to stop.
