Makoto probably isn't the first to try this stupid act he's undertaking right now, nor is he likely going to be the last.
As it is, he looks to the chart in his hands (pen stored behind his ear for the moment), then down the hall, and then back to the chart before frowning.

[OOC - I checked and double checked- though Shinichi and Makoto CAN sound similar, Makoto's tends to sound a tad higher, if at least less 'smooth'... However much sense that makes to you. For those who want maximum confusion fun though, you can use whatever you want as an excuse to call him that. ...I'm mean to my characters sometimes.]
