good vibrations.... in my ears!
so my first encounter with the 9:30 club went amazingly. and my first encounter with the Reverend Horton Heat live was STUPENDOUS!!! i was completely blown away. i was right against the stage in front of Jimbo (yes!). he was incredible, i have never seen fingerwork quite like that.
they played for maybe a little over an hour. and it was an hour of indescribable bliss. one of my favorite songs that they played was My Big Red Rocket Of Love.
after they finished up the Reverend threw his pick across the stage and it landed maybe five feet in front of us on the stage. so i bumped Rick and told him to get it but he couldn't reach it so (being the determined girl that i am) i grabbed Rick by the knees and hoisted him up and he got the Reverend's pick. we were the only one's in the audience to get any kind of band paraphernalia from them! Jimbo shook all of our hands when he walked offstage :swoon:
we lingered a little and Rick got to talk to Jimbo which was pretty exciting. and then i bought a shirt and a belt buckle. which was neat. i came home and passed out. time to go!
