Kill Bill Vol. 2

I saw Kill Bill Vol. 2 today and I have to say it really should have been released as a single film. The first film was (to me) a disjointed mix; all flash, not much story. Vol. 2 balances it out nicely, and I find myself looking very favorably at the film as a whole. There was a lot more for Uma Thurman to play off of in the second film, making her seem a little less she was grandstanding much of the time. I was also very impressed with Darryl Hannah's role, however short it was.

I always think that the best films are ones that motivate me to write; that inspire me and give me ideas. Such is the case with this film. Having rented Vol. 1 and watching most of it just before going to see Vol. 2, I felt like I got the full experience of the film. The sum of the parts got me thinking a lot about what it takes for a person to kill, and if the oft-repeated idea that after the first time killing gets easier is true. So, I've got an outline for a script tentatively called Something People Say. We'll see if I can stay on this one longer than five pages.
