Lana's Dorm Room, Connecticut [Monday, Evening]

Nov 11, 2008 00:32

It was quite late by the time Lana and Shawn made it back from their excursion of the day. It was impressive just how much time you could spend just exploring an area like that.

Now, they had take out picked up on the way back, and a whole evening to enjoy.

[[ooc: For the girl whose room it is, and SP 'cause zomg must sleep now.]]

Lana was a bit flushed and windblown, cheeks rosy, and more than ready to curl up and be cozy with some food and Shawn. "So, did you like it?" she asked as she hung up her coat.

"I did," Shawn confirmed, putting the bag of food down on her desk before shrugging off his own coat. "Never really make any effort to do this stuff back home, one of those things you skip over by not being a tourist."

She took his coat from him to hang it up. "I'd never seen the ocean before I went to Fandom and I fell in love with it there. Selkie Cove became my special place. When I moved here I had to find another place where I felt as, I don't know, right, I guess. And that quiet cove down from the Lighthouse just worked for me."

Shawn smiled, nodding slightly. "I always go back down to Highland beach. Maybe its something about water proximity."

Lana smiled. "I do love the water. Maybe you can bring me to Highland beach when I visit you?"

"I'll take you there," Shawn promised. "Think it'd probably be your sort of place. No lighthouse, but it's right at the foot of Mt. Rainer, so it's got something."

[[ooc: *facepalm* could've sworn I replied to this. I slow.]]

"I'd love that," she said with a smile and finished setting out their food before settling down beside him. "It sounds wonderful!"

"My cousin Kyle and I used to spend a lotta time out there back in high school," he said, picking one of the pots to check on what was in there. "Mostly 'cause of the lack of parent-types to keep an eye on what we were doing, I think," he said with a chuckle.

Lana laughed. "You're going to think I'm crazy, but I used to spend a lot of my time in the graveyard."

"I'll admit... that seems a little quirky," Shawn agreed with his own little huff of amusement.

"My parents were there," she said, blushing a little. "So I used to go and play or read and talk to them. It just made me, well, not miss them less, but feel a little closer to them."

Shawn nodded in comprehension. "Makes a lot more sense than just hanging out in a graveyard for kicks," he said, offering a small smile.

"Well..." Lana said thoughtfully. "They are generally very pretty. And quiet."

She smiled at him. "Thanks for understanding."

"It just really doesn't seem that odd to me," Shawn told her with a little shrug. He smiled slightly, "No stranger than me going back to the place I was abducted, anyway."

"You never talk about that much," Lana said carefully. "I'm glad to listen if you ever want."

"I honestly don't remember it," Shawn admitted. "Right before and after are crystal clear, though."
