Wow, that just made me start crying all over again! You really got inside Dean's mind here and I could eally imagine this is what happened. My heart aches for him, to have been through so much, to have died so many times, gone to hell, gone to purgatory, to end like this is just so unfair. I love how you expressed his initial confusion...

'Dean smiles, but it hurts. It hurts to smile, to breathe, to talk, to hold on to Sam, to hold on to life. It's not like it's a new feeling - no, Dean knows exactly how it feels like to die in agony, he knows pain, torture, aching, dying. It's still a surprise, though. Still surprisingly painful to die. I cried when I wrote this, which is ridiculous since it's my words and my imagination but I was so emotional from the episode and cried for what happened to Dean, and from what I imagined he was going through.
