to my peeps in Ottawa...
OH BABY, I just found out one of my favourite events in Ottawa is happening this evening. At 5:45pm, they're turning on the Christmas lights on Parliament Hill and Confederation Boulevard, and all the other national monuments, about 70 in total.
If you can get yourself to the Hill for then, they also have free hot chocolate and Beavertails for you! It's so nice: there's all sorts of families and people shuffling about, everything's all soft and pretty, and warm food and drink with which to toast your soul and make even better vapour puffs in the chilly air. It's one of the times when I think of Ottawa in a romantic way.
