I'm so happy to finally be on break, brief as it might be. We'll be broke, of course, which is why I agreed to tutor this woman for a test she's trying to pass, but at least I can sleep in for awhile.

The good news doesn't stop there, though. I got a call from Candice, who's been in Mexico for the past couple of weeks. She's a really fun person, so I'm glad we're keeping in contact even though she's not a tutee anymore. We share a love of Spanish, so there's some good common ground to start with. And speaking of Mexico, the best news of all is that Elvia is pretty sure she'll be able to talk her parents out of shipping her off. It's entirely selfish of me to want her to stay here, of course, but I justify it by reminding myself that they weren't exactly sending her for a vacation anyway. But in the end, if she were to go to Mexico for a nice break, I'd have been happy for her.

I really want to keep in touch with Ben and Candice. Ben told me he likes bowling, which is perfect since we've been bowling a lot since we've been here. I wish I could find more anime buds, too. Luckily, Elvia succumbed easily to its charm, but unfortunately, although some of the other people at the anime club meetings look interesting, there's not much social interaction except from the club leaders, who frankly are barking mad. I'll need to call Rosie today or tomorrow to see if there's a meeting and if she's going. If so, we'll all go en masse and take the club by storm. ^__~ I'd really like to visit that tea place again; they're so nice there, the drinks are great, and the company is even better.

A week ago, I almost couldn't wait for classes to start up again, but now I'm not so sure. ^^;;
