I did it.
So I did it. I accepted the job at Swedish. It was a hard decision for me though. But I did it. It was difficult because recently I’ve been thinking I want to do more massage. Get a part time job doing massage, and reduce my hours at the UW to 50%, like the original plan was when I was still in school.
I talked to my supervisor at work, and she said if we got 2 new grants, they would reclass me so I would make almost as much money as they were offering me at Swedish. But, getting 2 new grants is not a sure thing, and I would have to wait at least 6 months to find out if it was. As it stands now, everyone’s job is only stable through the end of this year. Then we run out of money, and thus a job.
Since one of my big short-term goals is to make more money and catch up a little on my debt, I decided to take the job. I will likely get a job doing massage 2 days a week as well. I am only doing 1-2 massages a week with my outcall work, and I want to be doing more massage than that. I will still continue with the outcall work as well...
I will get a little time off because of this too. I am going to take 3 day weekends the rest of the month, and visit my good friend in Chicago!! Hopefully I will cash out 1-2 days of vacation too, to help pay more off on my credit cards.
