bringing Lola home

Well, Lola seems to be adjusting nicely :)
I took her home at 9 am this morning.
The first thing I did was throw out the ladder she had shredded due to boredom, and clean her poop-covered perches! Then I put in new toys; she only had two :(, and changed the paper in the bottom of the cage. Ahhh, it looks much better now, and she already seems happier!!
While I was fussing with her cage, she decided to climb out and try to nip me every time I moved a toy in her cage. It was so funny. When she did that, I had her step up on to my finger. If she tried to bite again I just did the ‘earth quake’ with my hand. That was enough to make her stop. She likes testing the waters, and I respect her for that. She already feels comfortable enough with me to preen, and let me snuggle her with my cheek and nose. She also rubs her head on my fingers. It is sooo cute!
I am really glad I took her home, and do not regret spending $$ I didn’t need to spend right now, and adding to the size of my ‘zoo’. I think I will be able to give her much more space, toys/stimulation, love and attention than she got in her last home. I think she is going to be really happy with me :)
